Understand there is no ballot for P2B in SCGS, anyone know-how many applicants within 1 km, 1-2km & >2km?

Exactly 43 applications <1km for the 43 vacancies.

On the 2nd day, there were only slightly more than 30 applicants where 2 applicants are 1-2 km and 1 applicant > 2km.

Thanks to ST who provided free ad for SCGS and in the end ... anyone > 1km has no chance at all.

My choice is Endeavour but now seems like balloting could probably stop that. Hope that next one wellington and no balloting again. Why? 1km got many applicants? PR also?


Anyway, anybody know if Wellington Pri School have before and after school?

Looking at the number of applicants about 164 applicants (Canberra + Endeavour) need to go into 2C supplementary (11/12 Aug). Wellington only have 104 places so if all rush to wellington, ballot again. Yes, Wellington have before and after school care. It can take up to 40 students.

Can we go after sch care of Wellington if we are not from the school?

Does it means that a very strong academic sch is first tier? What about an all rounded school?? Lousy?

I think we should take such tiering as a guidance to where a school stands overall.

MOE is also trying to \"educate\" parents that it's not just academic results that determine a particular school is good or bad.

In general, i think the more popular school will be well balanced or score high in most criteria that determines the ranking

As all parents, every parent wants the best for their kids. if they have the advantage of being old boys/girls or affiliated to a popular / \"good\" school and do not have to spend a fortune to move house such that they can be within 1km, why not right?

In anyway, how big can Singapore be? I have a friend who stay in Bedok and send her dd to SCGS. The sch bus pick up the dd as early as 6am.

In many cases, for those of us who do not have this advantage, will try to move within 1km. IMHO... to each his / her own.

It seemed like RGPS is getting very competitive partly due to spill over from NYPS. But this does not mean that RGPS is not as good but NYPS is definitely more popular.


2 years ago was the last time where <1km can cruise in easily.

Saw Straits Times this morning on SCGS. This will be advertising for the school. I would expect the no. to exceed yesterday results.


Feel sorry for the 1 parent (>2km) who registered.
