      Hi Applelyn1,

      Yes the answer is 100
      210 - 20 + 50 = 240
      240 รท 3 = 80 (B)
      80 + 20 = 100 (A)

      Answer sheet might be wrong sometimes :D[/quote]

      Hi, need solution for the math question below:

      At Baba Shopping center, 1/8 of the patrons are children. The ratio of the no. of men to the no. of women is 5:9. The ratio of the no. of boys to the no. of girls is 2:3.
      a) What is the ratio of the no. of children to the no. of men to the no. of women?
      b) There are 360 more women than men. How many boys were there at the shopping center?

      Thanks.

      Hi

      Children : Adults --> 1:7 = 10u :70u
      Boys :Girls : Men Women = 4u:6u:25u:45u
      (Boys --> 2/5*10u = 4u, Men --> 5/14*70u = 25u)
      .. with these, you should be able to complete the rest.

      cheers.

      Thanks! MathIzzzFun

      Hi need someone to help on the following 2 question, thank you.

      Q1) Jame had some stickers. She gave 18 stickers to her sister and 5/7 of the stickers to Mary. Then, she used 3/4 of the remainder for her project and had 35 stickers left. How many sisters did she have at first?

      hi

      work backwards
      1u = 35
      4u = 35 x 4 = 140

      4u + 18 = 2/7 of stickers
      140+ 18 = 2/7 of stickers
      therefore 7/7 of stickers is (140+18)/2 x 7 = 553 stickers

      Q2) Ali , Bala and Carl shared 90 marbles. If Ali gave 6 marbles to Bala, Bala gave 2 marbles toCarl and after that Carl gave 1/4 of what he had then to Ali, the three boys will have the same number of marbles in the end. How many more marbles than Ali did Carl have?

      Need help on this

      when my father wa 39, I was 9. now he is twice as old as I am. How old am I?

      Thank you in advance.

      Hi

      Age difference or age gap will always remain the same - this is the most important fact for questions on age.

      age gap --> 39 - 9 = 30 = my present age (since father is twice as old, present age = age gap....draw a model --> easier to see with a model)

      Thanks!

      cheers.

    • RE: Q&A - P3 Math

      Thanks Mrs Alan, I got the same answer too, wondered why teacher gave answer as 39?

      alan000:
      Dear Applelyn1,

      Age difference remains the same.

      In this case, 39 - 9 = 30

      When the father is twice as old, the father is 2 units and the son is 1 unit.

      The difference -> 2u - 1u = 1u

      As difference in age always remains the same,
      1u -> 30

      Therefore, the son is 30 yrs old now.

      Hi Alan

      Thanks, I got the same answer too, I wondered why the school teacher gave answer as 39?

      To find the current age of the father, find 2u.

      That is, 2u x 30 -> 60

      The father is 60 years old.

      Hope this helps.

      Mrs Alan
