Which of the following objects are not affected by gravitational force?
A. A bird flying in the sky
B. A man lying on the floor
C. A balloon rising into the sky

The answer given was (3), but couldn't understand why??

The answer should be (4) because if there is no gravitational force acting on the objects :
A. A bird flying in the sky can stay in the sky without flapping its wings
B. A main lying on the floor can be lifted up with our little finger.
C. A balloon rising into the sky need not be filled with a light gas but can be filled with stone and by give an upward push, it will continue to rise.

Fully agree with your answer and explanation.

Agree with the above except the date! US has shown sign of recovery now and it may take a while to fully boom and then crash. Most likely later than that.

3 parents want to get into a school with only 2 remaining vacancies. The names of their children are written down and placed in a ballot box.

One of the parents insisted on being the first to draw. The Principal decided to make it more interesting. The parent will get to draw, but if the ballot he opens is his son's name, then his son will be eliminated and the other 2 parents will get the places in the school.

However, before the parent opens the ballot, the Principal will remove one of the remaining 2 ballots in the box that does NOT contain his son's name. The parent will then get to decide to open either the original ballot he removed, or choose to open the last remaining ballot in the box instead.

What should the parent do?
A) Choose to open his original ballot
B) Choose to open the remaining ballot in the box?
C) It makes no difference whether we choose A or B.

Alamak! The the Principal already removed one that does NOT contain his son's name, mean the other one in the box contains his son's name lo. It will be not wise to open the remaining ballot in the box one.

For parents who come into this thread to find out more about GEP/prep courses, I can tell you that based on the information I get, going through GEP prep courses will greatly enhance the chance of your child getting into GEP. Obviously, this is not a guarantee, but it does greatly enhance your kids' chance if they can do well for the GEP prep courses.


For those parents coming in to enquire about whether their kids should join GEP if given a chance, my opinion is why not? The fact that govt give so much priority, privilege, etc and you don't want? :siao:

He has not taken any practical exam as I want him to enjoy playing piano as much as he can rather than sitting for exams. Exam will make piano playing boring as he has to concentrate on 3 pieces. It is just my personal preference. However, he will take Grade 8 practical exam this March.
