Does anyone know Crescent’s O level performance? Read on their site that the school has performed very well and my DD said that the girls she saw taking results looked quite happy. But no concrete data till now. Any good news please share.

Actually, if we take a step back, it might make sense for AHS to have such strategy. I remembered asking them during their \"roadshow\" if there are minimum results and they said no and it is based on talent. But I hold the belief that if the DSA school is a far stretch for dc, it might not be appropriate to try it. So what if they can get in based on their talents in specific area, they will struggle academically in trying to keep up with their peers in secondary school. This is on top of their CCA commitment. It is not just about getting into a certain school but rather how to survive in it well so that they can enjoy their secondary school life. A place that allow them to grow and develop.

For schools that offer DSA via 3 streams, I do have a concern. Based on MOE guidelines, anyone with scores 200 & above will qualify for express. What if the child DSAed but score 190??? The child potentially can try for express in some secondary schools. But if they were to DSA, does that mean they have to go to NA stream in DSA school??? I think this is the part that I've my doubts over. Anyone knows?[/quote]

Usually, the schools which have more than one stream, will give an offer conditional to which stream you qualify for. But if you fall short of Express minimum in that school but qualify for express in other school, the offer is not binding on you. You have a choice to accept the offer and go to NA in that school or reject the offer after PSLE results. The CO offer acceptance is binding only if you meet the minimum express cut-off in that school. My friend's DD got a CO thru sports, which she accepted. The express cut-off was 200. She got below 200 but was eligible for express in some other schools. She was given an option to reject or take NA. She opted to take NA in the DSA school.

    • RE: PSLE 2013 - Results Discussion

Can anyone who has appealed earlier please tell if there is a time period given by school to take up the offer? We have appealed to 3 schools for DD. Though school no 2 will possibly let us know first, she is more keen on school no 1. Should we ask for time to take decision or should we just accept whichever comes first?

      Thanks in advance.
