The school didn’t make any mistake here. According to MOE regulations, twins have e option of balloting separately or together. For citizens, it means 2 ballot slips EACH if they decided to ballot separately, or 2 ballot slips with both names if they chose to do so together. The difference is if they do so separately with 4 ballot slips, only e one being picked will get in, unlike e 2 ballot slips option where both will get in if any of e slips are picked. So in this case, the parents opted for e latter option, and got it. Fair & square, it seems.

      so quiet in Marine Parade?

no one need to ballot for phase 2C here? :?
TNS ballots in the afternoon at 2pm. I guess likewise for NA?
The sound of silence in anticipation.
Good luck to all parents balloting! πŸ˜ƒ

      Hi,

May I chk with parents here who have gone thru or know how the balloting process is carried out?

Will the ballot slips be in the box already or will it be shown to us that our slips actually go into the box?

Sorry for seeming like a paranoid here. ;(
The whole process, from verification of each ballot slip right till their drop into e transparent box for e draw, will be witnessed by all present. All e best! πŸ˜ƒ

      Hi ksps,

Can anyone explain how the figure for 2b in some schools is bigger than the figure in 2c.. I thot the number of seats for 2b and 2c shld be 50-50.

      Tia.
Hi Tia. It could be the case of a withdrawal during phase 2B. The seat in that case will go to phase 2B first as I understand. A second withdrawal will go to phase 2C in that order. It could also be a case of a pair of twins being selected for the last slot during phase 2B balloting, in which case both will go through at the expense of a slot from 2C. On a related note, you will also see some instances of phase 2C slots exceeding that of phase 2B. This was my understanding. πŸ˜ƒ

      mlee01:
Probably my first post here, had joined for a few years monitoring but with vested interest this year because my elder son is registering for P1 this year.

I had his registered in Ngee Ann in Phase 2B (PV), now struggling with the idea whether to pull him out and ballot for Tao Nan. Quite a struggle for me and my wife. We stay within 1km of both, TN is much within 500m while NA is just below 1km. It would be ideal if we can get him to TN as we can walk him to and back school.

oh btw, I called the TN school this morning - of the 52 applicants, 50 are within 1km, 2 between 1-2km.

Looks like a lot of other parents like us waiting till the last day to decide.
Hi mlee01. As tankee cautioned, do not be deceived by the seemingly small number of applicants in phase 2C for TNS thus far. My take is that the rest of the parents who are keeping one eye on TNS will only show their cards on the last day, in the afternoon window. This is the prefect recipe for a great upset in balloting odds when most parents, enticed by the seemingly low numbers on the initial days of registration, rushed to enrol at the 11th hour fancying their chances. A last minute surge in applicants is thus a real possibility, and there may or may not be enough time to withdraw and apply at another school. So do keep this at the back of your mind in your decision-making. And if you've already decided to try for TNS, have a back up plan for 2C Supp, and be mentally prepared for a school farther from home.

Wish you and wife the best of luck in your P1 reg. πŸ˜ƒ

Hi pumpkin pie. You need to start working the ground in order to secure a phase 2B recommendation in 3 years time if thats your intent. What's your plan? PV, Clan or Grassroot work? Have fun. πŸ˜ƒ

Here’s a piece of information for the parents of all P1-going children next year after a visit to my elder child’s pediatrician this morning. There are some recent changes to the National Childhood Immunisation Schedule, with the latest stating the need for children ages 6-7 to be given a) Oral Sabin - 2nd booster, and b) MMR - Booster (2nd dose). As I was advised, both vaccines will be given at Primary 1 by MOH in school at no charge. So parents, there’s no need to waste money on them as part of the P1 prep.

Thanks everybody. Hope to hear good news from Augtsh soon, sprinkle some good luck dust to you.... πŸ˜„

      :goodpost:

Hi happymom. My child is already registered in TNS through the earlier phases. Maybe my earlier messages didn't quite convey that. Apologies.

Thanks anyway for the good luck dust. I always have room for more good luck in life! πŸ˜ƒ
