Seems like my ds & dd sch start & end latest – oral, LC & compo 2-4 May. Written papers 10-15 May.

Stress comes from the school too. Schools like to fail our kids. We have to do a great deal to temper the unpleasant Wake Up Calls from schools.

My P5 dd teacher stressed out too. DD says her teacher almost cried when asking them to work harder after last CA... quite a lot of them slide in marks and some with failures, and they are supposed to be in the better class.

I checked with ds yesterday whether he and his classmates were stressed by the oncoming SA1? His reply was \"No, we are pretty cool about it.\" In my heart I was thinking, this is bo-chap, not cool. Hmm.. maybe like beanbear said, they are really showing signs of stress? :skeptical: But my ds really look more bo-chap than stressed out! He would give a blur look when asked where's the workbook that is supposed to be done (did not bring home!), forgot to learn his 默写 as previously only given 听写 etc. :frustrated: But then, I really should give him a pat for his \"willingness to do extras\" this year. Whenever he thought he is done with hw, I would say still need to do this & that. He will say ok, I rest 10 min first can? :please: But then, I really must be with him to nudge him before he know what to do.

For science, you can roughly expect energy and interactions (P6) as well as all p3-5 topics. Chinese would be whole of 6A book. For math, my son will be tested on whole numbers, algebra, angles in geometric figures, nets, fractions, ratio, percentage, speed & circles.

Ds topics & exam t/t not even out yet, I like kan jiong spider everyday ask for it!

Really need to change my kids lifestyle & get them to go outdoor more (but I can’t find enough time!) Sch health check shows that their eyesight has deteriorated again as compared to last yr. Everyday it’s school, hw, reading or tv/screen games (45min) but all are near work & straining to their eyes! Sigh!

Hey, my DS is also one of the tortoise moving around slowly without knowing that time is precious. Sigh......really hate the feeling of pushing him every second. How sweet it will be if only our ds can be independent in their studies. :please:

Sigh, mine too! Totally not independent. :stupid: I still need to check sch bag for hw, remind abt spelling & ting1 xie3, & preempt what other hw he has forgotten like no need hand in this & that? Fighting fire daily cos work so slowly, no time for revision.

There is PSLE Seminar 2012 form by the Singapore Teachers’ Union given out to my ds. It is for the pupil, not parents. It stated that last year’s seminar was very well received. Anyone have any feedback on last years’ seminar? Is it worth going? Need to pay $40 to attend (half day event).

My son's school is using My Pals series.
For the Math SA1, there are many topics tested. :yikes: simply scary !!!
Not just the A textbook, but several from B book as well. This is only SA1 right ??

My ds SA1 topics not out yet, thus really no way for me to know whether are they behind time.

Quite a few schools indicate 15-18 Oct in their school calendar. However, it is not in MOE's website yet.
