Wolfgirl:
Thanks. Found the ask n learn. It is quite fun and my girl enjoys the activities.
Anyone feels the same like me? I'm a working mum and my child is in the afternoon session. After shower & dinner, I can only revise some work with my child from 8-9pm. Bedtime is about 9.30pm.
No time to even log in to asknlearn to let me child explore also. Everyday in the morning will just be learning the CL, Math & EL spelling and did a bit of the enrichment class homework. Then lunch time and goes to sch.
This is Singapore children's life?

Hi Wolfgirl,Has anyone gotten any news or further information about the Chinese online learning platform??
My girl has not said anything about that.
You may go to asknlearn website, key in your child's BC no. as username & password. Then you explore there. There are quite a number of links to Chinese learning platform.
My child's teacher has not informed anything about it. I logged in to explore and discovered it. -

Hapi Mum:
Hi, my child was given a donation form today. The purpose is raise fund for the structuring into a single session. Jus wonder what the amount to be donated?
I guess should be any amount...it's up to you. However I wonder why parents have to donate for upgrading. -
RE: Maha Bodhi
Yes, I fully agreed that pupils’ recess time should not be shortened or banned as a mode of punishment.
My dd in Pri 1 now, told me that FT shortened their recess time juz becos a few other pupils in class did not behave. The entire class was punished by going to the canteen 10 minutes later. I will email to the level mgr to feedback to her about this. I hope if more parents speak up, the school may look into it.
Another issue is I notice that there is no soap dispenser at the canteen washing bay. Soap dispensers in the toilets are too high for my dd to reach too…she’s rather petite. I have emailed to the Pri 1 level mgr about it and hope she looks into the matter. Aren’t they encouraging good hygiene blah blah before and after eating? If there is no soap provided, how to wash the hands clean with just water?
Even the soap in the toilets, for those who can reach, feedback to me that the soap are very much diluted…hmmm…the school really must improve on these issues. -
RE: Maha Bodhi
My DD told me that FT told her and another boy to partner and clean the canteen table every Mon.

I haven't heard from my DD abt the duty roster. Perhaps she was sick and on MC for 3 days. See if she tells me this evening...Today my girl had her chance to clean the canteen tables!
I think it is still considered novel and fun to her!

I think the stall selling fish ball with maggi nooldes/bee hoon is stall #3. According to my girl (P2) who always patornize this stall claimed that the stall is quite popular. Maybe you just give your girl some notes and coins like one dollar coin and other denomination. I suggest you ask her to pay using one dollar coin. The bowl of food cost $0.80. So I checked with my girl she would normally gave the aunty $1.00 coin so easy for the aunty to give back the change.
Hi Wolfgirl,babybob111:
Until now, my girl only buys chicken rice, noodles and drinks. Dun know which noodle stall, except she described it as something like maggi noodles with some soup, fish ball and fish cake.
So far, I email the P and FT straightaway, but only for applauding the FT for doing a good job. The P replied within 1h.
The maggi noodles with fish ball etc shld be stall no.3. So my my DD's FT is very quick in responding email but not for P. Till now P has not replied anything....maybe busy? I emailed the P1 level mgr last Friday and she mentioned that \"We will take note of the situation that you have mentioned and will do the necessary\".
Regarding the drinks stall, even my son who is in P4 commented that the aunty is very rude. She wants the student to place the order fast and settle the payment fast also. So I always encourage my children to bring packet drinks to school like Milo and others. How can they expect the children to act fast even we adult sometimes also could change our mind in ordering food.
Hi 2818,
Thks...It's a gd suggestion to ask my child to pay $1 coin to the stall #3 auntie. I usually let her bring coins in denominations to school. Perhaps the auntie finds it was wasting her time when my child counted the coins to pay her.
As for the drinks stall...my P5 child also commented abt the auntie's rudeness. I have bought pkt drinks and also told them to bring own drinks instead of buying from her. IMO, she's not only rude, but also a bully! Since she's so impatient, why don't she try selling drinks at the coffee shop? She is unable to take the stress & crowd in sch and she shows her frustrations to the children. Hope the P1 level manager will counsel the drinks stall auntie. If not, I will find a chance to dropby the sch on a Saturday or during the Meet the Teachers Conference in March and speak to this auntie. -

Hi Wolfgirl,Tough job.......
Must be overwhelming......
My girl has been telling me she is in a roster to clean canteen tables... What is the selection criteria?? Hahahahaha she does not even clean tables at home. It will be good training.
Just got the letter regarding the CNY celebration... How will the sch buses cope ferrying am and pm sessions?
The children will take turn to do housekeeping. My Pri 5 child had a chance to wipe the canteen table and sweep the floor last year. She feedbacked that it was yucky to clear the table as the cloth and the pail of water was dirty. But I think it's a gd training for them. At home, I let my children wipe the table, clean and mop the floor in their own rooms. So they are ok to do those in school. Just that my cloth and pail at home is not as dirty as the school's.

Wow...great idea to raise up a giant umbrella for the kid to recognise us. haha...so will see many parents rising something high high to identify themselves
Like you said it's a roster so they have a chance to even sweep the classroom.Wolfgirl:

Don't worry the bus operators would know how to handle. Just a reminder to you parents that if you intend to pick your child from school. Your eyes must be very sharp and make sure you told your child where or what you are wearing. I have tried picking my children once, it was in such a big mass. Just to share with you alittle bit more lately I saw a man raised up the giant umbrella for the child to recognise him.
The children hv a hard time to identify us too, cos too many adults and too big crowd already. Unless we will be wearing a prominent colour Tshirt or something...otherwise it is hard to identify us right away...oh my...hv to think of a way to locate my kids...cos I hv a P5 & P1 to fetch that day and I will be working. Their grandparents will be fetching them and they will see till blur blur... Maybe hold up a red paper fan? Or wave a red handky or something?
As for the P1 level mgr, I hv no comments as I do not know her well enough.
