    • RE: Travel : Vietnam - Hanoi with 2E2A3C

Nope, half day is not enough. The journey itself from Hanoi city to Halong bay takes about 2 hours.

Best is if you can spend 2 days in Halong bay, than you must take the overnight Bhaya cruise. Loads of things to do, kayaking, morning taichi on deck etc.

You can check out this website, they are my supplier in Vietnam.

I think the best time to go snorkeling would be in mid Jan when its at the hottest. Usually around 40 degrees.

Sharkbay however is very far up north so you have to drive, around 800kms. But it is well worth the trip. The place to pat dolphin is at Monkey mia which is near sharkbay.

Northbridge is actually connected via a overhead bridge to the City centre's metro station. So if you stay at a hotel near the City centre for example Hotel ibis i reckon its abt a 10-mins walk. You will probably have quite a few meals in Northbridge.

    • RE: What should I do?

Hi Pinky, I think another point you need to consider besides the inconvenience is the fact that 2 young adults of the opposite sex are staying under one room, think of the inconvenience.

I have heard of cousins having sexual relationships with one another.
You might want to mention this to your IH or your SIL, imagine incest in the family.

But than again if your niece is ugly than nothing to worry about. πŸ˜„

    • RE: Your life change after move out of In-law place?

I guess that depends on how far you intend to move and what is the underlying problem. Not everything can be resolve just by staying further apart. Advise you to evaluate the situation before making the huge purchase.

    • RE: Bad Teachers

Sometime back i read a chinese book on child upbringing and one of the golden rule is do not criticise your child’s teacher in front of them. As you are encouraging them to challenge authority and lose interest in their studies. I think the first point is debatable as challenging authority might not be a bad thing, but the latter is definately worrying.

If the teacher truly did something wrong it would be best to speak with the teacher personally instead of criticising them and siding with your child.

After reading this article I tend to relate to my own personal experience. I have a younger brother who has dyslexia and my mom was late in discovering it. Probably because of guilt my mom is very protective of my younger brother. When he was in primary school he had a very demanding form teacher who always scold my brother for being slow. My mom did have a talk with the teahcer but she also criticise the teacher in front of my brother, saying things like "With a teacher like that no wonder why your grades are not improving and dont want to go to school" etc etc

My brother ended up to be a very resentful person and always finding excuses for himself. He blames that form teacher of his for his current situation, he blames the singapore education system for P4 streaming blames everyone but himself.

Probably cos when he was young my mom taught him how to find excuses for himself.

Hence i would advise parents out there to pls do not criticise the teachers in front of the kid. Do have a good talk with the teacher and principal if necessary.

    • RE: Does ur DH watch Porno?

My husband have his ownporn collection and is not afraid to tell me about it. Sometimes we do watch porn together and make funny comments. I dont think there is anything wrong with this, i rather we be open to one another.

Sometimes man can be quite \"fan jian\" the more you dont want them to do it, the more they want to do it, just like kids.

Heard from my husband and other male friends that usually guys who claims that they do not watch porn are not normal. Usually the quiet and shy ones are always those with shocking secrets.

Old hokkien saying \"diam gao ka shi lang\".

The above is just my 2cts worth dont flame me pls. πŸ˜„

    • RE: Good couple spas / massages in singapore

We used to go to Elements Spa at Cathay Orchard, usually couple massage + jacuzzi, followed by a movie, very relaxing. Heard from the masseus there that people like to do kinky stuff in the Jacuzzi, i think some people just cant control their noise level.

Alternatively you can go to Batam for some cheap shopping and seafood. Usually i book the entire package with http://www.asiatravel.com. The rooms are nothing to shout about but the spa area is quite cool, it is at the outdoor pavillion on the 3rd floor on the building. Jacuzzi is also outdoor but private. Can ask the hotel to arrange a taxi to bring you to a nearby kelong for seafood.

    • RE: Do your kids play online game?

I guess with the internet being so readily available nowadays, every kid will or have played online games before.

As long as they dont get hooked on it. Try not to let them let involve in MMORPG (MAssive multiplayer online role play games) such as World of warcraft, maplestory etc as this kind games tends to be more addicted and time consuming. πŸ˜„
