My daughter has been offered a place at Pioneer jc through Dsa. She has also applied at Temasek poly under DPA. Now, in comparison, which would be better?

Poly / Temasek Poly
Could anyone let me know which Poly is strong in Applied Science?
Also, could anyone advise me on the Food & Nutrition Course at Temasek Poly? My daughter wants to pursue a Degree in Dietetics. -
RE: O-Level Additional Math
I am back again. Thank you for your all your help.
I have spoken to my daughter’s school Prinicpal. I have the option of doing the subject privately as an additional subject and the school will register her for the O Level exam through the school. This is what MOE also told me.
So now, could anyone recommend me a good teacher who can teach her the complete school curriculum on a one-to-one tuition at home (or any other suggestions)? And the rates of course. I live in Woodlands. -
RE: O-Level Additional Math
Okay, so if she does not do A Math and she goes to Poly to do a Science stream, how can she enroll into University after that? I heard that upon completing Poly, students can join 3rd yr into NUS. Is this true? I am speaking about courses like Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, etc.

RE: O-Level Additional Math
Thank you for all your replies and guidance. I did call MOE and they said that I should register through the school and do the Course privately....
I cannot register as a private candidate. Yes, I don't know how much she can be coached privately...
Please do let me know of other solutions. Thank you so very much.

O-Level Additional Math
My daughter is not able to take A Math in Sec 3, she was given POA. Infact, she could not meet the required marks by just 2 to 3 points. Is ther any way she can take A Math privately? Would it be recognised in JCs? Please help.

RE: Cedar Girls Secondary School
Thanks again Maisy. Well, one of my friends told me the same thing. She said I should meet the Principal and get all the questions answered once and for all.
Uncomfortable meaning a bit shy I should say. Anyway, after seeing your reply, I just called the school to fix an appointment and they said that both Principal and Vice Principal are out of town. I was only asked the reason why I wanted to meet her. I tried to find out when they would be back but to no avail. Now, I am going to send in my letter of appeal. who would see it? The Staff or the Principal??? -
RE: Cedar Girls Secondary School
Dear, dear Maisy, no one will ever stones at you .... you know why?
My daughter's HMT is Tamil .... big joke!!! No offences meant !!!
I am an Indian (mother), however being educated in Hong Kong, I did French as a second language. After I got married and settled down in Singapore, I was told that my children had to take Tamil as it is their mother tongue. I have never helped them in the language ... they have studied on their own so I was very impressed with my daughter's score.
Is it easy to meet the Principal? I was told by many to meet the Principal, however I am a bit uncomfortable about it.
Thanks for your help Maisy. Please do continue with your advices. -
RE: Cedar Girls Secondary School
Thank you Maisy for your help and information.
My daughter has made her choices -
Cedar, PLMGS, TKGS, St. Margaret’s, Riverside and Yishun town Sec.
The last 2 being in the North where we live.
Keeping our fingers crossed.
She got Merit for HMT but I understand that they will add the 2 pts only for SAP schools. So, she loses out in the case of Cedar, I guess. It could have been 241+2 and very close to the COP.
