FYI, there are so many students getting PSC scholarships every year in RI that they have a dedicated PSC desk in campus. RI students study hard too but whats in RI students and culture that makes them stand out against others? Have you ever thought about it?

To be honest, i would not want my child to be in a school that is excessive in mugging. I will rather that he has a balanced JC life where other all aspects are developed uniformly. Employees today do not look solely on grades anymore. (In fact there are already so many kids out there with perfect scores). You need to stand out with other abilities in your interview and portfolio.

mugging' is another word for studying and 'mugger' is to describe a very studious person.

Nice words to use- to study consistently in JC which is less than 2 yrs span then its A level.
JC is the toughest hurdle, then in Uni can relax more as its not so paper n pen kind exams.

Bad choice of words used by parents/students jealous of Nyjc and to scare potential students applying Nyjc- mugging.

There is definitely a balanced JC Nyjc life- with many allocated Ny college events to participate/chill on from Nyjc Calendar events.
Its how students manage time.

Nyjc has a conducive study campus- campus is opened on weekends for students.
Ny students love to study inside college with peers, chill at Nex for a decent meal/nearby popular coffeeshop, then back in campus to continue study or CCAs.
Its a healthy motivation amongst the Ny students, rallying one another to study consistently.
They study openly, no closet where other JC kids go back to mug or study at home.

Which JCs you go dont need you to study or mug regularly, pls. Unless you want bad rp.

I don't thk the school merely focuses on 3H2 n 1H1. But i dont have ready hard number to share off hand. A number of my DD1's classmates actually takes 4H2. But if they are not doing well in one of their H2 subjects, noticeably Chem, they will be advise to drop the 4th H2 in J2.

There is a record number (in NYJC) of J2 students in the grad class of 2023 admitted for EASE, close to 25% of the corhort (i came across the list 1st hand, so no qualms on the number). These are the ones who have good prelim results (possibly other CT results, not sure ) and good portfolio to be selected for the \"green harvesting\" program for local uni's early admission. So it may be an indication of the no of students taking 4H2 and some even has a H3 subject, on top of their CCA commitment.
