dwwww:
hello everyone, am new here but have been reading loads of very good info...wondering for the ACS (I) IP Y3 intake, there are 100 places available for students within ACS (I) based on the school IP webpage, which make it a fairly large%, if you go with 100 / 369 = 27%, of the express students that will enter IP track in Yr3? Or there are other sources of students (international/foreign) getting into Y3 IB? if yes, what is the likely % over the years?

I got the number of 369 express students based on total Y1 intake at 520 (the classs list published on 30 Dec 11, but don't see it anymore in the homepage) with IP students at around 151 (1.12-1.17). thank you
There are around 45 scholarship students intake Y3 2012. 30 students from ASEAN, around 15 from China.
21 students got IB track.
All my friends that wanted to go to ACSI originally now run to other schools like River Valley. Anyone knows why is that so?

Why don't you ask your friends that question and tell us? Ask them why they changed their minds and decided to go to River Valley? I'm curious too.

COP do not make or break a school. Its the students, the teachers and the programmes the school has.

I don't really know. They said the COP dropped by 5 and that many rich people like 大少爷 go there and there will be financial supremacism.

What's more, they heard that the mathematics equipment there are really
expensive 😓
Math result not too bad comparing RV:

Hi bromath!

It just means that those who do best in the Sec 2 exams for Sciences and Mathematics are most likely to end up studying A-level stuff in Sec 3 and 4. It will be challenging. It may even be interesting. But it is no guarantee that the student comes out positively changed as a person.

I wouldn't trust any programme with a take-up rate of much more than 5%, maybe 10% Which means that if more than one class is 'accelerated' for each science subject, I would be cautious.

Notice how carefully I am talking about the subject at hand. 🙂
So is it possible double degree for accelerated class ? Attend A-level exam in sec 4, and get IB diploma in grade 6 😄 ?

Thank you autolycus for your information.

according to booklist 2012 there are "Physics for Scientists and Engineers 8th Ed (Accelerated Class for Science) Serway $58.85" and "Biology 9th International Ed (Accelerated Class for Science) Campbell, Reece $83.45", I believe these books use for undergraduate student. Do you think these books suitable for sec 3?

Hi,

Anybody know about "accelerated class of science" in sec 3? How can be selected in this class? What is ratio between normal class and accelerated class?
TIA
