Janet88, I think it is not a problem at all for your dd to continue her ij journey in sec school so long as it is her 1st choice. What I like about the school is that the school will try to take in all the feeder students, at least in dd's time, giving every feeder student a chance to study there. The teachers, according to dd, are dedicated & caring. Your dd will be happy there, feeling right at home.

Our first choice will definitely be IJ Toa payoh secondary.
I love the warm feeling and caring teachers who give her the necessary support very much needed since P1. She loves the environment and principal, Mrs Tan.

But in Secondary School the prinicipal is different yah.

Although the standard of the school doesn't seem really \"atas\" or anything, now i was the girl who didnt get into SNGS even though hitting the required score , so on and on. But after going to school for the past few weeks, i realised that this school wasn't so bad after all. We have awesome facilities and the teachers although strict yet reliable. They infuse fun and knowledge into the class at the same time. Im starting to love my school, meeting my friends at school, and yeah. Time does fly, and also, our principal seems really nice too!! She has this aura of wiseness around her lol. Anyway, if you need any info about this school, drop me a message. I might be able to help!! šŸ™‚

COP this year is 247, You think that's not high?!?!? BTW, I did't mean it in a mean way, sorry....

Im just saying it like its not atas to other people like a little sacarstic-ly
Hello, i still didnt get any calls from sngs regarding my appeal, but I have hit the COP. My Fellow Classmate next year, (stillthinking) has gotten a call yet her marks are the same, why is that so?

Im really saddended by this, and when i called yesterday they said by today 5pm will call if chosen, yet when i call this morning they say already ended. Which is the reliable officer answering my enquiries? I really dont know whom to trust. Very sian...

btsfangirl - I am sorry if the call really did not come through. I am sure many people will be telling you this - but there is a silver lining to every cloud. You may look back at this moment 4 yrs down the road and realise it was not so bad after all since you had a lovely time in the school you eventually pursued your secondary education in. That is exactly what happened to my son - I remember the anxiety, the hassle of not buying books and uniform, the phone calls, the disappointment. But in the end my son has just completed 4 yrs in a school that was not even on his radar before the PSLE result - and has had an enjoyable journey.

CHIJ Secondary is a great school too - I went for their open house in Octoberr and was really impressed by the calibre of the students who spoke at during the P's talk. I had to go and commend them on their oratorical abilities. They have programmes to stretch the academically gifted girls - I was really impressed with the welcoming spirit shown by the girls. I am sure you will shine and soar in the school.

I wish you all the best.

But is it advisable for me to appeal again in sec 1/2 to sngs again?
Why not? If it is your dream, pursue it. But be mindful that mid secondary transfers are more rare. So ensure you continue to embrace your current school and immerse yourself fully in it - love its strengths and forgive its weaknesses and allow it to nurture you fully. You arr obviously a bright and motivated girl - keep up your positive spirit. That will shine through no matter where you are. And if after a year or two - you still think it is SNGS- why not, indeed?
Oh. Okay :')

But is it advisable for me to appeal again in sec 1/2 to sngs again?

It will no longer be an appeal once this window is over.

It will be deemed as a request to transfer from your sec school to SNGS. Success / opportunity will be based on vacancies, results in your sec school, other contributing (like CCA, sports, leadership, etc) or human factors, etc. T-score will probably play a minor role in the transfer.

      Ohhhh. Thanks floppy.

Only Nygh has affiliation for IP program in Singapore. The rest of the lP program in Singapore are by merit. Everyone goes in by merit.

No. Not only NYGH. Scgs . Sngs . Mgs . Etc.....
There are many ip schools work on affiliations

Yes, they do have affilation, but its to their o level. nygh is the only school that accepts affilated students with ip.

In an appeal case, COP is only one of the criteria that the school looked at. Meeting the COP doesn't mean that the school must consider you; although not meeting it means the school will definitely not consider you (the latest directive has made it clear). Other factors that the school may decide to pick one student over another: CCA or leadership contribution, academic or niche contribution, etc. Assuming you and your fellow classmate are similar right down to the wire, it could be the decimals again.

P/S: I would assume it has ended this morning with the school determining that it has sufficient candidates to choose from the list that they have already contacted.

      Oh...
