Try BBC.com. Lots of thought provoking articles online as well as current news and affairs. They have segments on health, technology, lifestyle, etc. It’s free.

Just curious, Janet88, can the outstanding amount be used to pay for post secondary education fees?

Thanks for sharing, Jedamum and Slmkhoo. Good to hear from parents who's been there and done that! 😉

Just sharing my conversations with some of my younger colleagues. Most of them have their first BF or GF by the age of 14. I think that is really young. What are your views? Will you allow your teens to date?

      Hi Coralie,

My thoughts exactly! I just spoke to staff at NCHS. No food will be provided but our kids will have something to eat before the parents’ briefing.

As for parking, limited spaces are available so you will have to come early.

Shirotan, I can’t comment on SMGS as don’t know anyone there. My DD is now in P2 in PLMGS. Her P1 experience was good. She had caring form teacher and subject teachers who proactively kept the parents informed of the child’s progress. My DD has food allergies and the principal, teachers and school staff were very accommodating and attentive to her needs. Overall, I think it’s a well run and nurturing school to be in.

    • RE: How's first day of school 2018

Janet88, yes, NCHS is having its orientation week this week. Today's the overnight camp which ends with parents' night tomorrow evening. Lessons proper will start on 8 Jan. Don't think there's any more camp in the near future. 🙂

Yes, decluttering is good for the soul. If any of you know of any place to donate pre-loved clothes, books, toys, etc., do let me know. I know there’s always Salvation Army but all their outlets are far from my place.
