So the general consensus here is that SST won't be a popular choice? :?

      Anyone applied for it?

    • RE: The Birds and the Bees

      Simple in my case.

Have 2 hamsters of different sex.
Kids witnessed the mating, the pregnancy and the birth of 4 hamster pups.
Also saw how mommy hamster nursed the pups until they were independent.

Usually onset of period is about 1-2 years after development of breasts.
      How tall is your gal?
I am also just as upset as you.
Cos my daughter is still so short.
Usually can only grow about 5cm more after 1st period.

      hquek:
quite enjoy the show, but was half wondering if my kid will learn tricks from the show (telling lies, threatening to jump off). ๐Ÿ˜Ž

      Ya.
They should have shown the girl jumping off the building and the consequence after that, eg paralysed, blind, etc.
I am also worried that our young ones will emulate their threat of commiting suicide to get what they want.

      Generally, i enjoyed the show.
The kids can act so well.
Wonder where the film crew found them.

    • RE: Your daughter's hair, long or short?

My 10 year old has not cut her hair for the past 2 years!

She just refuses to step into a hair saloon.
Yes, i think it is a trend for girls these days to have long hair.
Her friends are now growing their hair long.

Previously it was so difficult to get her to wash her hair frequently.
Went to library and borrowed a book on hair lice.
She felt so disgusted after reading it.
Now she is washing her hair almost daily, if not then every other day!

    • RE: Elite vs Neighbourhood Sec Schools

If you look from another point of view. Your daughter being from an elite school will know children from presumably elite background. That may help in future, who knows right?

    • RE: All About SAP Schools

My kids are in one of the SAP primary schools.

The option to take higher chinese is there when you are in SAP pri school and the points in higher chinese will only be taken into account if you apply for a SAP sec school, otherwise canโ€™t use the marks.

I find that the emphasis and format of learning for higher chinese is different from the CL2 chinese. So if your child has no aptitude for mother tongue, then it may be wiser to drop the higher mother tongue and concentrate on the 2nd language which is to be counted in the PSLE.

      Hi Carebear

I heard from my boy is that that chose those which did very well in the 1st round of GEP to attend. I think your boy did well in his English therefore he is not invited.
Sigh....strange, my son's english not powderful, i thought it was his math that got him in the top 10%. I sometimes guess it must be the scholl he is from. This school does not seem to inform us of things that some schools encourage, eg the school did not inform us about the maths olympaid course that NUS conducts during the holidays, did not let the students take NSW test in P5.
