My DD has 245 and she is not interested to go Nan Chiau as she does not want to do HMT. Instead she wants Zhonghua sec. I am staying in Punggol. Anyone has any comments on Zhonghua?

sigh.... I really don't know what else i can do to help my DD. Her marks has been slipping for every revision paper done in school 😓 ..... she nearly fail two of them (english revision paper)!! Her performance has been consistent for the past years.

After going thru them, i noticed DD had been \"improving\" on her carelessness :slapshead: Even her better subjects (Math & sci) suffered!!! Her concepts and methods are there... its just plain carelessness...... sigh.... Her languages (esp english) are the worst hit....

I had been taking \"nicely\" to her until now. I thought all is well when i see that she is able to do and score for the past year school exam papers.

      Any advise?

      Maybe she's tired...

For myself, I felt DS was getting sick of never ending homework so I hands off for a couple of weeks. I didnt ask about mock test or revision paper outcome hoping to ease him some stress. I am worried since SA1 is approaching but I decided to let go in case he gets too fatigued. Thankfully, he bounced back. There are still stuff he has to cover for SA1 but guess we'll take it as it comes...

      Maybe DD is tired.

Had a heart to heart talk to DD.... she is also noticed her work is slipping... and she is worried too. So I asked her what/where/how she needs my help most. One by one she identified areas that needs help and how to improve them. With SA1 coming.... I am very worried.... Hopefully she can bounce back soon..... :xedfingers:

    • RE: Stay-Home-Moms Rejoining Workforce

      Hi, I am new here.

I am considering re-entering the work force full time after my DD (only child) finishes her PSLE this year. Had been SAHM since she was in P2. Started working part time when DD is P5. Currently I am working part time - 2 full days, 3 half days.

Any mummies can share their experiences and advise?

      TIA

    • RE: In-law problems?

      hi all,

trying to seek solace here after I had a few major fight with MIL this month… Realized that I am not alone…

Stayed with PIL after married. MIL even offered to take care of my DD. Fortunate right? Ya right… everynight she will sleep at 8pm… that means I don’t get to see my DD if I come back late. Everytime will get DH to knock on her door to ask for my DD. When she hand DD to me… she will turn her face away… like I am a monster? Thinking to spend more time with DD, we decided to let DD sleep with us, and bring DD to MIL in the morning. After a few days, she scolded me 坏女人 right into my face… confronted her as why she scolded as 坏女人and she don’t even come out from her room to tell me why… in the end, i grab my DD and went to stay with my mother.

Soon we sold off the flat and get a new one on our own with FIL. MIL chose to rent room outside. Gradually this situation improved our relationship. Suddenly, early last year she moved back to stay with us as she could not find another room to rent. ( for the few years she stayed outside, she moved almost every six to eight months as she always have conflcts with the landlords). Although I am unwilling, I cannot say No. All of us thought that she had changed after staying outside for so long. We are wrong.

After a few months staying with us, she started to pick on me like last time. She will accused of things I did not do or say. Even when I worked late for consecutive few days, and did not see her… she will still have things to accuse me. Everyday, she will bang her door whenever she sees me around the house. She will throw away my things when she don’t like it. I had endured all her nonsenses. DH knows what his mother is like. So he knows what I am enduring. The only thing I am hoping is for her to move out … so bad hor?

    • RE: Helping the Aged age gracefully

      winth:
      Hi carin004,

MIL told me that they have this social service thing whereby she will be 'trained' to help the 'even more' elderly by doing weekly visits/cooking.

Do you have any idea what this is all about?

I'll ask DH to look into the Jan course for MIL, so that her momentum continues.
if i remember correctly, she only did the social service thingy during the course duration. Actually its about helping the more needy old folks, spending time talking to them and doing activities together. It actually help them to bond better within their own \"classmates\".

Keep encouraging your MIL.... soon her own daughter will appreciate to have mother who can grow old gracefully.

We keep telling my mother to do whatever she likes when she still can walk and run. There is nothing to hold her back now. Enjoy life while she can.
