Travelling far it’s very tiring even for school nearby if u travel by bus. Cause bus will go round n round.

South view more homework, more remedial plus more time spent on travelling=more time lost. I just think $150 bus fare also not worth to pay . better to use that $150 on 1 enrichment class which you now also have more time for?

It depends on how you view it. My husband, hahaha, not me, is paying close to $200 for my daughter's bus transport fee to Marymount Convent.

Have you heard of how Amy Chua (the Tiger Mom) doesn’t do things by half measures? If she wants her kids to learn something, they don’t start lessons until she’s found the best teacher. And they’ll go to him even if he lives in another state.

For me, both my husband and I are willing to send my daughter to a school with niches in Rhythmic Gymnastic and Aesthetics (Dance & Arts). The experience my girl gets in the convent school is incomparable to normal neighbourhood school. My girl was reading one day and came across a phrase,\" The rich sent their daughters to convent schools (in the past).\" I had to remind her we are not rich and not poor. Just read with a pinch of salt. Otherwise she will think all her friends come from rich background.

I'm not affluent though there are affluent parents in Marymount convent and they are not the snobbish type. This is what I like 🙂

For me I have to consider 2 bus fare after 1yr which is $300 per mth. When I studied in Henry park last time n I have to wait for bus at 6am and reach school at 7.15am, after school I'm will reach home only at 2+. It's tiring. But still depends on individual parents, I'm those that want my kid to have a happy childhood. Furthermore my parents can coach them with their studies so less headache for me when I'm at work that's most impt.

      Hi Chief Kiasu,

Thank you very much for your reply.

The reason why I hesitate is because if I take PEPS, logistic wise, it is the most convenient for us. But I also heard South View is better academic wise. I also heard South view is a quite disciplined school and gives students a lot of home works and a lot of remedial lessons. My son is a very playful boy, so I am a bit worried, if he goes to South view, he will feel quite stressful.

Wish we could know more about these two schools so that we can make a better decision.

South View Psle results academic standard better than Princess Elizabeth.

      Stay put at South View.
      Do not come out.

It actually depends on what u want. For example for me, I'm an old student of Henry park and my hb is from south view. Both are good school but We make a decision to apply for princess elizabeth due to logistics wise. I have another kid which need to enrol next year so for me is just 1yr difference for both kids. Have a friend which is a teacher she mentioned the princess is a good school also. South view bus fare is about $150per mth for this year. All school is good school, it's a 6years education not 1year. So you think what you want.
Hi, is there got any chance in Princess Elizabeth Primary School (BB,West) for PR during P2C, looks were difficult to project base on historical chart…

Ya. I think it is difficult. It is a popular 2C school. Based purely on ballot history chart, last year SC >2km balloted.

Nosarah, thanks, ya…hoping to get as i am staying nearby, if not bukit view only
I’m applying for Princess Elizabeth also. Hopefully can get in as I find it’s a popular school in bt batik west.
