Judging by this year P1 experience, i personally will opt for safest path. Phase 2c is very risky. I managed to get my son into the school via phase 2B…if we had applied via phase 2C or 2Cs totally no chance. Within 1km my home, there are six primary schools…3 demand…2 so so n 1 nobody wants to go in…even that two schools previously no balloting history, this year have balloting in phase 2cs…grab whatever opportunity before phase 2C!!

Judging by this year P1 experience, i personally will opt for safest path. Phase 2c is a gamble.

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Yup…schools might scrap or reduce PV tasks

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Yeah, some of those super highly balloted schools don’t offer PV scheme anymore…so it is important to find one that give u that opportunity, if that school is above the average national standard but not the best n most demanded…is better than nothing…especially given this year crazy super competitive p1 registration experience.

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
By the way, i think it would be lucky if you can get a PV place within next one to two years…as now schools generally have limited slots for PV during this Covid-19 pandemic… good luck for SG50 babies parents

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Anyway is a good experience…for example i
Managed to get some PV work during Chinese New Year, Cultural day n during last year Nov19 Orientation day…so i know what to expect during this Nov school Orientation day. The school also allow continuous volunteering for parents who like to continue for those adhoc work…so that give parents opportunities to see how their children doing from time to time -
RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Normally for those very highly balloted school they will really cap their PV intake

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Anyway the school that I volunteered already told us that there is no guarantee we can get a place even if we fullfill our hours but most of time those completed n met their requirements will probably be accepted. True enough my son able to get a place in p1 next year. In fact all the PV parents got a place…so key thing is get a PV job from one of the school u want first…shit this year the p1 registration is so so competitive…

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Also for every phase, u can only apply for one school, so no point to do volunteer job for 2 or more school. That is personal opinion

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Theoretically u can volunteer as many schools as u want but whether u can fullfill the school PV requirement is another thing
