haha… yes the culotte is very difficult to button. My daughter told me that some of her friends still need help to buttonup the culotte after one semester.

    • RE: Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) [*IP]

      Hi Fairy,

My daughter will be in sec2 next year. The lit book for 2009 sec1 is ‘sense of belonging’ and ‘power of peotry’.
There are 13 classes in her level, the PSLE high scorer and GEP students will be grouped in the last 4 classes. The school does not groupt all the sports DSA students in one class, but the students from the same sport are allocated in the same class. For example, tennis DSAs will be one class, and table-tennis DSAs will be in another class.
They have three PE lessons in 2 weeks.
I would say the teachers are good.

a lot of differences between these two schools. It depends on your criteria of choosing schools.

both of them are very good and IP schools.

      RGS
      - Girls school
      - In the centre area(Orchard)
      - Not a SAP school
      - will enter RJC after Sec 4

      DH
      - mixed school
      - at east
      - SAP school, probably stronger in Chinese?
      - will stay in the same school for 6 years?

    • RE: School Bus Service for Secondary Schools

Hi, you should be able to find the information of the bus operators on your daughter’s orientation day.

They normally only offer the transport in the morning.

    • RE: Is possible for Sec1 Girl to take public trasnport: 1 hour

I think secondary school bus only provides one-way transport, because of the different time schedule of the CCAs. My daughter’s bus fee is $100/month.

      DadOfGirl:

Hummmm... looks like gifted student transfer ... after P3 year end. Smart ones will not have any problem managing trnasport.. Evenif they are late , they are excused by teacher
My dd is in Sec1 this year, she takes schoolbus in the morning and take public transport home after school. According to her, the students taking school bus will not be booked for late. It would be better to choose the schoolbus first.

    • RE: IP, IB vs A Levels

If your kid gets 250+, he/she should be able to go into most of the schools, except RI/RGS, HCI/NYGH…
