RI will be conducting Shooting trials on 6 July and 13 July. All the best to all who have been called up for the trials.
Just for information, RI took in 1 boy for air pistol and 1 boy for air rifle for Year One 2019. No idea how many CO/WL were given out for Shooting though.
For those who are not selected for the trials, work hard for your PSLE and enter via T-score. For Year One 2019 batch, Shooting Club took in 6 boys for air pistol and 6 boys for air rifle. All the best.

RE: DSA 2019
In case you can’t get hold of a copy of the magazine, the following DSA application process is extracted from the article for your information:
~ From 2019, students and parents will submit their applications via a common online portal.
~ All schools will have the same application timeline and applicants need only fill in one online form for multiple schools. The details provided will be sent electronically to the schools selected.
~ Certificates, transcripts or testimonials will no longer be required and only Primary 5 and 6 academic results, CCA and school-based achievements or awards will be entered into the online application.
~ The application is free and can be made by logging in with a parent’s Singpass account. If you don’t have a Singpass account, approach your kid’s primary school for help.
~ Sota and Singapore Sports School are not participating in the online portal and applications have to be made directly to the schools.
~ The application process runs from April to May; the first cut takes place between June and July, with the selection process complete by the end of August.

Parents who are new to DSA and don’t have the time to read through the valuable information in the DSA thread for the past few years, you may want to check out this article "Everything you need to know about Direct School Admission" in the Mar/Apr 2019 issue of Young Parents.
P/S: I am not related to the publisher SPH in any way. -
RE: Indigestion / Constipation / Bloating
Read the following from March 2019 issue of SHAPE Singapore:
\" Could a small footstool take away constipation woes? Researchers say yes. In a recent US study published in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, it was found that participants who typically strained during bowel movements or had difficulty completely emptying their bowels felt better after four weeks of using a toilet stool. A stunning 90 per cent reported less straining while 71 per cent spent less time on the toilet. Having a stool under the feet improves your position since your body is meant to be squatting while doing your number two.\"
No harm giving it a try!

RE: Club Bookworms
jho48109:
This book is available in NLB. Pigs are normally depicted in books as lazy and simple-minded. Read this book to find out how enterprising and cunning they can be.
This is an interesting book to read! I love animals so much.. I want to read this book ASAPCheongsam:
Reading Animal Farm by George Orwell now. Last read this book when I was in secondary school.
This is still so true - All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.

RE: Me Time!
It is always fun to buy CNY cookies but not so fun to deal with bottles of half-consumed cookies lying around.
