I suppose there is. Cos first round was only a test.

I've posted the below questions but didn't see any response:

What is the experience of others whose DS/DD that needs to take e-test? Complete e-test, wait to be shortlisted for e-interview on another day? Complete e-test and e-interview on same day? Only need to complete e-test and wait for DSA outcome on Sep?

Not sure about e-test for NYGH other domains but the email I received:
- Unit 1 will be used to shortlist candidates.
- Unit 2 and Unit 3 will then be considered to confirm the suitability of the shortlisted candidates.

Does the message indicate that only e-test will be used to select the students without the need for e-interview on another day?

suggest call up NYGH,
ask to speak to the DSA officer in charge that, based on the interview email you have received, you would like to clarify whether

- is it Units (1, 2 and 3) all conducted on the same day, or

- Units (2 and 3) conducted on another day later, after the performance of Unit 1 ?

If answer is latter, means there will be Round 2. Otherwise, if everything all tasks conducted within the same day, means only single round, including e-interview
All 3 units will be tested on the same day via SLS (total 55 mins). I cannot imagine having another round of e-interview on the same day after 55 mins of e-test 😓

Question: How many rounds (with one school) did your DD/DS need to go through for this year DSA? Reason for the question, DD already went through 2 e-interviews with 2 separate schools. Both are single sessions with performance task and interviews completed within that single session and no mentioned that there will be a 2nd round. Looking at some of the postings in this thread, seems like there are schools that conduct multiple rounds (or at least 2 round, e.g. SCGS (e-test then shortlist for e-interview), SST (2nd round is e-camp?). I initially thought DD will be done with her 3rd DSA activity (e-test, 55 mins (30+15+10)) by 5 Aug so that she can concentrate on her prelim and PSLE. What is the experience of others whose DS/DD that needs to take e-test? Complete e-test, wait to be shortlisted for e-interview on another day? Complete e-test and e-interview on same day? Only need to complete e-test and wait for DSA outcome on Sep?

Wow! 55 mins of e-test??!!

Is nygh the other sch conducting etests?
I doubt NYGH is the only school conducting e-test especially based on what had been written for the boy schools when applying for academic domain. That is why I don't think we need to think too much about whether solo, group, got e-test, no e-test indicate anything or not. Every school is different. There is no standard format when it comes to DSA processes. We can share our kids' experiences for the benefits of those that haven't gone through (late DSA e-interview) or next year batch (which again may change because next year may be no need online e-test/e-interview).

Actually what r the interviews like for different domains? Just for this year..

Math/ science/ languages take mass test/ quiz then sieved through to another round of 1-1 or group interviews? Sports all 1-1 or group? Do the 1-1 or group format signify anything? Like if they cater more time for u 1-1?
Each school conducts their e-selection & e-interview differently. I believe each domain even from same school may be different (e.g. some need e-test before selected for e-interview, some solo interview, some group interview & etc). I believe DD last one with NYGH will be the toughest (55 minutes of e-test via SLS). Not even sure if there will be e-interview after the e-test (from email, looks like all base on e-test as if got e-interview it should be another day which is unlikely).

Is it common for the interviewers to provide positive feedback like in the case of Cool nurse's DD? I had assumed most would remain neutral all the way till they have seen everyone and deliberated amongst themselves so as to manage expectations.

Any other experience of interviewers explicitly saying the child did well for the interview? Winder if that could be their way to hint to the child ahead of mid-Sep.
So far DD attended 2 e-interview and both are group interview. At the end of the interview, interviewers of both sessions did provide positive statements (e.g. can see all are good leaders, solution provided is good, hope to see all continue engaging with community work & etc) but nothing extraordinary to each individual. Maybe for solo interview, interviewers can be more direct in their feedback. Anyway, 2 done 1 more to go and that's it for DD on DSA and all the way for prelim and PSLE.

Hi,
That.s why I am puzzled too. From the shortlisted email, RI mentioned will liaise with pri school first. Maybe the DSA coordinator overlooked the clashes date.

I doubt the DSA coordinator will overlooked such thing. DD experience with RGS is that they will coordinate with DD primary school but it clashes with DD prelim oral also. DD school contacted us and give us 2 options. First to continue the oral prelim (English) immediately after DSA interview on same day or second, to take the English oral prelim exam the same day as Chinese oral prelim exam that is, the day after the DSA interview. We opt for second choice. The confirmation email from RGS also mentioned that there is no alternative date for the e-interview. I will assume it is easier to get the primary school to arrange alternative for prelim oral rather than RI to change the date.

Called RI admission office just now. The staff told me they will do the necessary change if interview clashes with oral date. But the staff asked for more time given to me to arrange another date. My DS primary school will also inform them of the clash.
Great to hear that RI is flexible and willing to accommodate. So far the DSA schools that DD applied had given sufficient notice and all e-selection test/e-interview will be completed by 5 Aug (one week before PSLE oral exam ). I doubt that DSA schools will conduct their interview on the day of actual PSLE oral exam but really, all should aim to finish this exercise by beginning Aug so that children can concentrate on their own school prelim and PSLE preparation.

Hi hi,

Your DS is going for the leadership interview too, right? I have not received the email yet. But from what I understand, RI have called the DSA coordinator of your DS's school to request for interview dates. But if it clashes, does that mean RI just set their available date?

Thanks. Anyone encounter the teacher are inside with your kid while interview?
I think the experience will be a bit different between schools. DD e-interview beginning July had 2 teachers inside room (but staying far behind) and another that is in charge of equipment setup inside also. No idea why they remain inside throughout the session but I believe DD e-interview is one of the earliest thus maybe they are just there to observe so that future setup will be smooth. For DD upcoming e-interview, below are instructions from another school:

\"Your teacher’s presence
Your teacher will only be present before the e-interview session to assist you with the logistical and technical set-up. Once your interview starts, your teacher will leave the room. In the event that you face a technical difficulty during the interview, the interview panel will try to guide you in resolving it. However, if there is no image or the image ‘freezes’, you might need to get your teacher to help you. Make sure you know where you can find him/her\"
