Just to share- friend's sis committed suicide recently cos hb had an affair and insisted on divorce. She left behind 2 sons and was SAHM for 2 years. Hb moved back to his mum's place after requesting for divorce. Before she committed suicide, she left a note that identified the 3rd party,hb's friends who encouraged him to divorce n also requested her hb's uncle to celebrate hb birthday after she gone...she loved him so much n wasted 16 yrs with him just becos of this 3rd party..

There is NO POINT looking back unless it is to see how far you have come or to recheck direction. We move forward in life. If she was able to pull herself together and build a new life for herself and her children, I am sure she will win the admiration and respect of her children and regain her self-esteem. If she had wanted to shame the third party, she could have just gone to kick up a ruckus since she knew who that woman was.

I called and scolded the women, and in one case, threatened to go down to the office and track down her parents. She was so scared she hung up on me but I forced her to call me again. I told her to take my husband, I don't want him, but I'm going to make sure that everyone in her office and her family knows about it. I was ready to burn bridges. Two calls. She quit and left.

I totally agreed with you. My friend's sis case was published in the newspaper yesterday. She jumped from her apartment, 15 storey and her children were doing home works at that time. the worst case was that the dh hooked with a PRC secretary and in the end preggie.. the dw finally triggered the last straw and left the dh w/o kids.. fyi, she has 3 sons with the dh and has abandon them totally... looking at the dw's actions, u know how much she suffer... where on earth will mum dun want own child!! the dh must be too much so the dw is now taking revenge... see how to PRC is going to take care of total 4 kids...!!

Actually I will not fight for custody of my kids if ever we divorced due to 3rd party. But I will demand access.
Simple reason. I have given up a good part of my life to be a SAHM & take care of family & his parents so that DH can concentrate on his work without worries. Since DH loves his kids a lot, so I'm sure he would take good care of them in my absence. As for me, I would need to try to re-establish my new life, get a job etc hence it would be tough if I still have to take care of kids. If he has any doubt about his new lover's ability/willingness to take good care or treat his kids well, he better think thrice about EMA. I'm not going to let him have the easy way out by & enjoy best of both world. If he is worried for kids or new lover may not want to 'inherit' the kids, it might serve as a deterrent to EMA. (won't work for those who does not love their kids tho)

Browsing through the previous thread, it seems most kids are able to handle chapter books by the age of 6-7. My girls is still reading pictures books. Is there any good interesting entry level chapter books which will is suitable to introduce to her? And where can I buy them?

My DD was very hooked on the Magic Tree House series (and evil me used those books to get her to do something that was very mundane). It has interesting storyline and at the same time, imparts general knowledge.

If your girl likes fairies, another series is the Rainbow Fairies series.

Actually, to move from picture books to chapter books, it's good to start off with certain readers such as Step into Reading and Hello Readers. There are also some very thin chapter books with coloured pictures. May attract girls to want to read them.

Certain titles from Roald Dahl are good too (and extemely funny):
- The Enormous Crocodile
- The Magic Finger
- Giraffe and the Pelly and Me

Does ur gal has problem understanding the story? There are many new words and i have to explain the story to let her understand better.

Many thanks to this forum which kept singing St margaret's to sway bids from XX, it must have aroused the public and added much to the 26 SC additional headcounts registered today at St Margaret's. Much registration happened at the last hour. Feel so sorry for the many PR (of which 19 registered on D1 and 2 registered on D2) who have no time to react as all it looked perfectly cheerful in the early afternoon of their chance to ballot for 18 places. Luckily 3 from earlier phases withdrew and gave more room. All wish there could be one more withdrawal but the system is closed. No withdrawal could be accepted. The ballot will be next tuesday.

Thought it has always been the trend over the years. Cos smps is a safer bet compared to SCGS n MGS. If parents failed to secure a seat at SCGS n MGS, any other good options - gal School to choose???hmmm.. CHIJ - kellock n toa payoh??
