    • RE: Teaching Chinese at Home

I am using High Frequency Chinese Words by EPH to teach my son to recognise basic chinese character. I find it good as it only introduce 4 new words per chapter.

I have the 四五快读 set too. I will use it after I have completed the above or when my son’s ability to pick up new words has improved. There are too many new words per chapter for my son to cope now. JMO.

    • RE: Left Hander- how to correct?

I use my left hand for writing only.... Chopsticks, computer mouse, scissor , rackets etc all used my right hand.....

I find it very useful, I can eat and write at the same time 😛
I can write and use the mouse at the same time, very useful.

      Dear Parents,

Do you have any feedback on Sembawang PCF @ blk 319 and blk 309?
I like their program, they do project works… but they are not academic…

    • RE: In-law problems?

      Story 1.

I received a jewellery set from my MIL's good friend aunty Lucy as my wedding present. I like it a lot and wore them immediately the next day after my wedding.

      One week later,
DH told me that it was a mistake and my aunty Lucy would like to take the present back. It was meant for Lucy's daughter .

I did not want to put DH in a difficult postition so I agreed to return it. Even though I knew it was not auspicious.

In exchange was a gold braclet with a note attached from Lucy : Saying she specially selected the jewellery for her daughter and it was very important to her as it was her birthday.(So my wedding not important la... very angry),
My MIL did not do anything to help.

      Story 2
My MIL would boil bird nest and then in front of DH and me, ask DH go drink (as if I transparent). DH always offer it to me

      Story 3
During pregnancy, crave for home cooked food, requested thru DH to cook a simple soup for me... she refused......

    • RE: Febrile Fits

When my son was about 1 plus, he had diarrohea and vomitting (without fever). Then one early morning after his diarrohea, suddenly his arms and legs jerked involuntarily , clenching his teeth. The next thing I knew was that his lips turned black and he became motionless. He was like “gone" (forgot to check his heartbeat). We tried to wake him but he would not response.

We called an ambulance, they also could not wake him. I was holding him throughout the ride. The moment we reached KKH, he was awake and smiling. Warded for observation for 1 night, diagnosis was provoked seizure.

    • My son sweats in air-con room

My son is 3. Everynight after he has fallen asleep for half hour, he will start to sweat a lot, especially the head. We turn our air-con to 20 Deg and he will still sweat. I have to use a cloth to dry him before I can go to bed.

Any one with similar problem ?
