RE: Q&A - PSLE Math
I have a problem and would appreciate if anyone could explain the solution:
80% of the stamps that Mary had in her collection were England stamps while the rest were Australian stamps. After she collected another 280 England stamps and 105 Australian stamps, 75% of the total stamps she had were England stamps. How many stamps did Mary have at first?
Answer:
3 units -> ( 105x3 ) - 280 = 35
5 units -> 5 x 35 = 175
Total stamps Mary had at first is 175.
I don't understand why 3 units -> ( 105x3 ) - 280 = 35 ?
Can anyone please explain to me? thanks v much! -
