clayman so it's really allocated according to MT. I showed your reply to my son about taking HMT, his response \"No no no!!!\" šŸ˜›

Haiz. our MT need a lot of working on šŸ˜ž But I'm really glad to know that the MT teachers in ACSP are wonderful šŸ˜„ That's really really great!!!

      Thank you again clayman šŸ™‚
      Hi ezmummy,

So sorry I did not elaborate further. No, the GEP classes are not allocated according to MT. The 50 boys will be split into 2 classes at random. The 2 classes will be mixed again at P5 and then again at P6. So the GEP boys will basically know everyone within the 2 classes.

For MT, you will get some boys each from the 2 classes taking either normal or Higher MT. I hope that answers your question.

From my own and my son's experience, I feel Higher MT is for enrichment and if you intend to go to the SAP IP schools after PSLE, e.g. Hwa Chong, River Valley High or Dunman High, where you can use the bonus points for PSLE entry. I didn't want to stress him on MT so we decided to just go the normal route.

      ezmummy:

and btw shalomger, is your ds taking higher MT or normal MT?

I asked cos I'm wondering how they allocate the classes. Thinking if it's according to the MT. My son taking normal MT.
      Hi ladies,

The GEP boys who are taking normal MT will be grouped together. They will usually be joined by some mainstream boys who achieved good results in MT. Do take note that the GEP boys who take normal MT sit for their own normal MT CAs and SAs set by GE Branch, so you can say the level is somewhere between higher MT and mainstream MT.

If your DS does well in his P4 normal MT SAs, he may be \"invited\" to join the Higher MT class in P5, but it is all up to you if you want to take up the \"invitation\". My own DS took normal MT. The MT teachers in ACSP are wonderful so enjoy the ride... šŸ˜„ !!

      Hi Hi,

I'm new to this forum and this thread.

Can add my DS to ACS too šŸ˜‰

shalomger & hongbaocollector, which class will you sons be in? Great to 'know' parents from same class even before the school starts šŸ˜‰

      šŸ˜„

Hi ezmummy! šŸ˜„ Pls to meet you!

DS has been posted to P4H. Urs? šŸ™‚

Maybe we can meet up w the boys before school reopens. Hehe

Have u bought the uniform and books? šŸ™‚

If this year's 4H teacher remains in the same class next year, you will get a very experienced GEP English teacher. Mrs Shirley Toh was formerly from Nan Hua's GEP programme where she taught for many years. A firm and dedicated teacher.

haha, used to live at maplewoods then moved to near botanic gardens.

so it is like bukit timah road to blackmore, then u-turn to dunearn (but boy, nygh, rgs, cars on 2nd, 3rd lanes holding up traffic to get into adam road etc).

now very near to acps but i hate the traffic at chancery lane in the am.
I \"suffered\" for 6 years through the jams and horrible traffic. Hopefully, Dover Road will be less congested albeit a bit further than BT.

u r right about our location. we r beyond 2km. reaching sch at 6.45. is really early. I rather he sleeps for 30 mins more.
Haha..no problem. Just doing my bit.

School starts at 7.30am but the school would prefer the students to arrive by 7.20am, if possible.

      Hi Hi,

Son will be joining the ACSP family in 2012. I'm so thankful for this thread and all the parents who have been replying. Really helpful to newbies like us.

I have a question about reporting time. The letter we received indicated that we need to be in school by 7.25am.

May I know if this is the normal time the pupils need to arrive in school? If not, what time must pupils reached school?

I ask because the school bus said the picking up time is 6.05am! (:O) Which to me, is way too early if the reporting time is 7.25am. As such, I'm considering alternative way to go to school.

Hi shalomger, which class will your ds be in? Mine will be 4I.

I'm wondering when will we know the house. Can't buy PE attire cos don't know the house. Somehow feels something incomplete šŸ˜ž
      Hi ezmummy,

From the pick-up time you mentioned, I guess you are not living anywhere near school. The problem with the school bus, depending on the schedule of the driver assigned to your area, is that he will do 2 pick-ups. So those living further from school gets picked up very early and will usually be in school by 6.50am. Then he makes another round to pick up students living within a 2km radius of the school and drops them off by 7.15am.

As for the House, you will probably know during your DS's orientation week. I think your DS can get it from the school bookshop. Save you the trip to Bibi and Baba.

      Cheers!!

      hmmm...

very curious... does anyone know how the houses are allocated ?

if I'm not wrong, it's probably based on part of or the whole NRIC.

I don't think so....cos I got different houses in primary and secondary school. Maybe they tikam tikam....keke!!
hi, it is true that from p4 onwards, the school shoe cannot have velco?

      Yes. No velcro shoes.

Velcro shoes not allowed from P4 or P3? My son has slow motor skills. I am worrief about him having to wear laces shoes in P3 next yr.
P4 and you may want to start teaching him how to. All the boys start somewhere and they all manage in the end.
