Hi all parents, need some advise from you. My girl is 3 years old and has lazy eye on her right eye since 1 year++ old. I brought her to see Dr. Leo in ME hospital last year and were advised to put eye patching. She has been putting eye patch every 2-3 hours every day for 7 months already. Today Dr. Leo advised that need to do surgery because after 7 months eye patching, the conditions not much improved. I'm shocked that the costing for the day surgery is about $7k++ - $8k. Any parents here know the costing for lazy eye surgery normally is how much?

hi, u can enquire eagle eye center. They are in most of the private hospital.
they have doctors that specialize with children.
for surgery , you should be able to claim under insurance if you do cover your kids.

Yes, I have insurance covered my kid. Checking wt my agent, whether can make full claim or not. If can't, then look for alternative doctor for cheaper charges. Thanks for your advise too.

If you do not wish to wait, make an appointment with a pediatric ophthalmologist at SNEC as a private patient. Even as a private patient, the costs are less variable than at private specialists. However, if you have a very good recommendation in private practice, you may also check that option. For most of us who are not in the know of who's who, SNEC is usually the first port of call.
I see. Thanks for your advise.
