Dannyho:
Hi all DHS parents,

My daughter who is in year 2 this year needs help badly in Maths. Appreciate if any of the DHS parents here can recommend any good maths tuition centre/tutor.

Thanks

Hi Danny,

My dd faced difficulty in Math until we engaged Ms Elena from Aspire Hub Education to coach her. It helped her greatly.

You may want to google Aspire Hub and call up for a free trial. They have a few branches but Ms Elena teaches in Nex and Bedok branch, not sure about other branch.

All the best to your daughter! :rahrah:

Hi everyone, hope everything is running smoothly for all…

I am looking for Maths tuition for my child (yr 2). Does anyone know of a good tuition centre, and which tutor to look out for?

Or a good private tutor to recommend?

for the current year, the last two classes, ie, 3-7 and 3-8 are best classes.

like to check with parents with sec 1 kids...how many CL compo have your child done so far...to my horror my dd did only 1 compo (did it in term 1) and worst of all, the compo is still not given back! :yikes: In Pri school, they should have completed 4-5 compo by now! Wondering if all sec 1 classes is the same?

Hi coral,

fyi, my dd has done 3 CL compo so far and has gotten back all her compo:
compo 1: 我的彩色校园
compo 2: choose 1 compo title out of 9 given titles (命题作文)
compo 3:我的假期生活

perhaps the syllabus only required 1 compo and the rest was extra work given by her tr......? :scratchhead: I'm not so sure too.... :?
who is your dd's tr?

Seriously, it is very depressing to read this forum. The school has made strides in the A level results, having a greater percentage of students having 6,7 and 8 distinctions compared to other comparable JCs, and yet all I read is people dismissing our achievement.

This is a critical juncture for DHS where opinions are shaped permanently about the calibre of the school based on the A level results. We need to start producing results that our PSLE COP intakes suggest we should. The 4th best PSLE intake in the country should produce 4th best or better A level results! All the old boys and girls knows the school has seen better days than in the current pecking order.

from a proud ex-Dunmanian

Kevin, dont be depressed........one cant deny that......
DHS A level results for the past yrs ( bearing in mind that it is only the second full IP batch) has spoken for itself.
It is a proof of consistency with improvement  NOT ONLY in the number of pupils with 6, 7 , 8 distinctions,
also the % increased of 3 H2 distinctions ( fr 2010 yr of 37% to last yr of 40%).
There is also an increased % of distinctions shown in individual subjects (put up in the notice board).

DHS will certainly see better days ahead........ 😄
This thread needs u guys, as an ex-dunmanian, to cheer on/ movitate the juniors to go for it...cheers :celebrate:

Agree with you 😄 . And I especially like what the Principal wrote in the A-level result's notification slip (to us parents):

\"It is our firm belief that success is not about being the best, but about doing you best.\" :rahrah:
a good quote to share with my kids indeed!

DS said there were 36 yr 1 on friday. Nope, they have not chosen their instruments.

Apparently, the teachers will match the character of the students against the character of the instrument during the next session.
:thankyou: 😄
