i tot there is one operating in the school next year?

Yes but they say priority given to lower primary. My girl is joining P4 next year šŸ˜ž
Heard that a new centre \"Mustard Seed Centre\", at Blk 354, Clementi ave 2, #01-193, tel 6777 3458, there are quite a few Nan Hua students over there, my friend withdrawing from Ananias centre to join them recently.

My freind told me that the new centre offer part-time service for those who has many activities at sch.

No harm calling them or pay a visit the centre. Good luck![/quote

Thanks for the info and will find out more about them šŸ™‚
Anyone try Ortho-K

with Mee Mee Optics? Can share your feedback please?

I am staying in the west and check this forum for the recommended Ortho-k providers, looks like they are the only one nearby.

thanks

No sorry but my brother's friend went to one at clifford centre and they were happy with it. He's considering going to this same doc. It's a pretty central location so you may want to consider.

We are using Mee Mee Optics, and we are happy with it.
Which Optometrist do you see for the ortho-K program? Is it David Chong?

• RE: All About GEP

I am a newbie. And obviously started reading this forum after DD received the yellow envelop today šŸ™‚

Can someone advise if there is any good before/after school care near HPPS/NHPS/RGPS? I am full time working mum so still need to put dd somewhere after the curriculum time, and her current school care's tuition program will not fit after she join GEP, so...

Also, may i confirm the school hours for these 2 schools. HPPS is 7.15-1.30pm for P4-P6; NHPS is 7.30-1.30pm for P4-P6, not sure about RGPS?

thanks alot for any advices.

Interested to get either the 3M polarizing TL1000 or the Panasonic inverter lamp with dimmer, but would like to have a test on the lighting effect first.

Anybody know where can I find both items on display? I know 3M can be found easily in Best Denki or Popular, how about the Panasonic model, do they have it on display in Best Denki too? Or do they have both in Isetan, any idea?

thanks.

Not sure about Isetan, Best Denki has both.

I will go to the IMM Best denki to check it out this Saturday. thanks. šŸ˜„

Original Title: recom table lamp

hi i looking for a table lamp for my girl, mainly for her to use while do homw work. any brand for recommendation? 3m one is expensive and any other?

thanks

Hi buzzmario,

The panasonic one verykiasu mentioned is on sale at Isetan right now. The model SQT829 is pretty good and 168 selling for 128 while stock last. If the store has no stock you can order and they give free delivery. I'm not getting that though because dd prefers a smaller one but also panasonic.

Notice the panasonic light is quite warm but still cooler than the 3M one. I've decided to get the Koncept LED one for dh work table. LED lights emit very little heat.

Thanks verykiasu for info.

• RE: All about ortho-k lenses - my daughter's myopia journey

amylqf:
Below is extracted from my blog:

I did some research on major orthor-k providers in Singapore. Here is their service and price comparison. Hope can benefit other parents as well.

The Point Optical group
------------------------------
Price range: $1500-2200 for two years
The full package include:
- every 2 month eye checkup
- lense cleaning service
- 1 pair of spectacle for backup
- Free change of the lenses if eyes grow within 2 years

Replacement of the lenses: $800-1100 per pairs

I negotiate with the boss for 1 month trial for $200. If not suitable to wear, can change to other product.
As my child's myopia is consider low, I am not sure about other degree. You may mention my case to see if can get the same rate for the trial.

St Issac
----------
- Price range is $1800-$2400 for 1st year
- consultation fee: 1st time $55 for a year
- Subsequent year at $45 yearly registration.
- replacement lens at $650/pair
- do not provide cleaning of lens
- No trial period

Optic point@Shaw center
---------------------
- price range: $1950 for 1st year
- subsequent follow-up $250 every year
- replacement lens: just increased to $900/pair
- provide free lens cleaning
- 1 month trial: $350

MeeMee Optic
----------------
- price range $1600-$1800, including 2 pairs of FOC myopia lens (no frame). Check up every 3 month.
- replacement lens at $800/pair
- do not provide cleaning of lens

Good luck with your myopia prevention.
I was searching through the forum and very happy to find this posting, it's very useful as my girl is in the same situation.

I do have a few questions:

1. which branch of The Point Optics Group did you go to? can you please also share with me the detail of your optometrist.

I check on the web they have a few branches. I am staying in the west so likely to try the CCK branch. The other choice is Mee Mee Optics @BT Plaza but they don't have trial period šŸ˜ž

(anyone try Ortho-K with Mee Mee Optics before? any feedbacks please?)

2. you mentioned about free lens cleaning service, is that a regular service required and for those shop that does not provide free cleaning, do we just pay a fee or we can do it ourself at home?

3. On average, how much extra time is needed to finish this rountine ? 10 mins at night and 10 min in the morning? My girl is in the morning session so guess that means she got to wake up even earlier for this šŸ˜ž

many thanks.
