Sent my kid to My First Skool… My child has learned so much, from counting and reading to sharing and making friends. I am so happy we chose MFS for our child’s first steps in education. It’s the best start we could have hoped for! Highly recommended!

RE: Do your kids play online game?

Agree. I think it is realistically impossible to give teens 30 mins gadget usage daily. I think 30 mins only for kids below 7. 8 above more than an hour or so.
7-18 is a very wide age range! I would limit lower Pr kids to about 30 mins per day, and upper Pr to 1 hr per day. As they use devices for schoolwork, parents need to watch the they aren't actually playing more under the guise of doing work. And any time there are hints that they are unwilling to abide by the rules, or put down their devices at the end of the time, then the privilege of playing on a device should be withdrawn for a day or 2.
By the time they get to their teens, they can have more time, and anyway, it's harder to police them. Hopefully, they will have learnt by then how to control themselves and appreciate that the \"off\" button is there for a good reason. -

Do you think 18y/o would agree to limit their gadget usage to only 2hrs per day? Lol impossible
\"Two hours per day for 7-18 year-olds is the recommendation you should stick with.\"

Agree. Teach by example. If parents will take all gadgets completely, could have negative impacts on the child's behaviour. Us parents should also consider the child's feelings whilst thinking about their health/wellfare. I think's okay to let them use gadgets for about 30mins up to one hour daily as long as it is supervised.
I don't think it's feasible to keep kids off devices entirely, especially when parents are using them daily. When my kids were small, we didn't have mobile phones, but we did allow them to play some simple computer games. By the time they started, they were already 5/7 yrs old, and we set a time limit each day. Our limit was 30 mins per child, but each family should decide what is acceptable for them. It should be a set amount of time so there aren't daily arguments about what constitutes \"too long\", and totally non-negotiable in the early years. They need to learn to keep the the limits without fussing. This time was not at their discretion - they needed to ask permission, and we set limits on what they could do. They were not allowed to access the internet themselves at that age. We controlled the time by using a kitchen timer, and any fussing when the time was up meant no computer time the next day. That pretty much eliminated the fussing.
Parents should show by example that there are activities other than devices that are interesting (reading, cooking, sports etc) and involve the kids in doing those. Just telling kids to \"do something else\" while the parent is on their own device is not likely to work.
Kids should always be supervised when using devices, and parents should look at what they are doing every few minutes. They should not be allowed to do google searches themselves as you never know what they might encounter, or might get up to.
As children learn self-discipline, the limits can be relaxed gradually. By the time our kids were in the mid-teens, we were not really monitoring their usage very much as they already had fairly good control for themselves. Just some reminders now and again. -

Unregulated screen time during early childhood years can lead to developmental issues: Study
Yes we always try to make him read books or ask him to play his toys instead but he really prefer to play on mobile. Hubby and I concerned already so we confiscated mobile for now but he keeps asking to borrow it

Yes if marinated, better to cook next morning. But if need to wait couple days before cooking, put in freezer to store couple days :goodpost:
Pour the LKK sauce to marinate overnight. Tomorrow straight to the pot. -

:goodpost: Agree! But if staycation only here in SG or nearby vs branded wallet like LV or bellroy, I think wallet better
Staycation, of course. You will not be investing in a physical thing , plus how would you know what kind of wallets he likes? As for staycations, you are actually creating memories that last forever.
