    • RE: All About Recreational Swimming

      Good morning,

My daughters (turning 6 & 7 this year) are with the Torpedo swim team. I find them to be systematic and the coaches β€˜clicks’ well with the children - Firm but nice. So, the children (even those who tend to be more playful) listens to the instructors. My girls enjoys their classes and looks forward for their swimming lessons.

They have classes on Sat and Sundays mornings and evenings. They might have other timings on other days as well - You have to chk.

You can contact them at 91277651.

      Thanks!

      Hi yellowBelt

Thanks for your reply, that's great! Where do you go to get the updates? Their website?

Actually i'm in this situation when i know my DD got high chance of getting in as i'm an ex-student in HHPS, but i'm not staying that near to it.(staying in kallang) Alot of things to consider, like logistic, after schoolcare, etc.
      Hi Xeern,
I'm dadelina not yellowbelt - hee!
my dd1 is already in p1 this year. Hence, updates were received in school's letter to parents abt a few weeks ago.

      But Kallang is really far...

I will be registering my DD for next yr P1. She is born in 2006.

Can i know if there are any student care ard that area?
      Hi Xeern,
My dd2 will also be joining the HPPS family next year. who knows if they'll be classmates πŸ˜‰

And, yes, they will be having an on-site student care centre when the old site re-opens - this was as per update provided by the school abt a few weeks ago.

Hi, just FYI, P1 kids can go for the Thu CCA Gym session as well.
My dd joins her elder sis on Thu.
Do check with the teacher-in-charge - Ms Sim.
      Hello,
Oh, is that so? Thanks for informing.
I will chk if she still wants to join gym.

      Cheers!

      Hi parents,

We are planning to start a new playgroup for the toddlers around 2-3/12 years in Jurong west. It I s basically 2 hours program for 5 days. Our plan is to start by next march/April. I like to get feedbacks from the parent what you will expect in a playgroup when you enroll your kids in a playgroup.
      Hi,
So is your plan to start in Mar/April'12 going as planned?
If yes, may I know the exact location? Cos, I'm looking for a PG for my dd#3 for enrollment in Mar too.

      Let me know.

      Thanks!

      Hi Super Mama,

Well, gymnastics was her 2nd choice and she wanted to join too - haha! maybe she was being rather 'ambitous', I guess.

But since both were on Tuesday, she picked Art instead - art is her 1st love and she's been looking forward in joining the art club ever since she knew hpps has it as one of their CCAs for P1s πŸ™‚

I was OK for her to join (and 'test water') two CCAs as I knew P1's schedule is not as hectic as the upper primary levels.

Cos, my dd wanted to join gymnastics too but the timing clash with her 1st choice cca ie. art club.

      New HPPS Mum:
      Hi all P1 Parents,

Did your child spend all the pocket-money given to him/her? I gave my son $2 on the first day, $1.50 on the 2nd day, $1 on the 3rd day but everyday came home without any money left.. During the 1st day, I even caught him paying for his P2 buddy..OMG..
      Hi New Hpps Mum,
I give my daughter $1.30-$1.50 depending on my mood 😜
But, she usually juz spend $0.70 on food only. and bring back the balance. She's not into snacks and doesn't buy any drink cos she's ok to juz drink from her water bottle.

However, when she feels like buying somethings from the bookshop, she'll ask for my permission first. Even with that, she'll still bring a few cents back.

My son used to take that, like the uncle very friendly. πŸ™‚
I called and according to the uncle (on the phone sounded quite friendly) dd will be taking bus no. 16 cos 35 goes to Taman Jurong too. Whereas bus no.16, straight to Jurong West, Nanyang area.

on the pick-up time, he mentioned 11.30am. But to be confirmed in december.

However, still not able to order books online or see the book list for HPPS from Pacific Book store... I called and they say book list not received yet. Maybe it'll be uploaded online these few days
