With new ministers in charge I really hope they will do the right thing to deliver the promise to parents.

A promise is a promise. It must be honoured whether it is a housing or education issue. Why can’t the primary ministry in charge resolve the respective issues i.e. deliver the promise since each ministry is adequately staffed with many talented civil servants?

No news no dialogue; inconsistencies and questions asked unanswered …no accountability at all

Shame on MOE. Most parents heard the news through the media first and not through text nor email in the first instance. Why go through the press to communicate ? Such high handedness and disrepect for fellow citizens! What happened to the promise to address the questions and inconsistencies brought up in the dialogue. No use taking copious notes when there is no intention to be transparent and fair!

For affected parents, it is about information sharing and those who are concerned can just make a trip down to the Ghim Moh area behind the side-gate of the school at night to see for yourselves. If there is a need for better lit paths and more street lights, please raise it during the dialogue session on 25 May.

We \"appear\" because we've studied at Mt Sinai before, know people living in that area and/or live around that area. I don't think it's that bad. I'm sure if these concerns are valid, MOE will contact Christopher De Souza, MP for Ghim Moh and work something out there.

But does it mean after adding all the lights and increase frequency of patrols, parents will be willing to go to Mt Sinai? :scratchhead:

Selection - don't forget they must ensure EQUAL distribution of Voices from each school. Sinoboy correctly reminded us it's 2:1 mah, cannot be 75% attendees from 1 school, right?

If only 150/school, then submit 1 parent/household will do. Why need both hubby and wife of 1 child to attend? You can benefit more families by releasing the spots. Tell those who got 2 spots to release back to MOE?

On 20 May, check who's been shortlisted. Are they willing to walk up and take the mic and ask questions, or just want to sit there and listen?

Anyway, 7.30-8.00pm - most likely u'll listen to their presentation and explanation first.

8.00-9.00pm - most likely Q&A session, so must coordinate among yourselves so no time wasted on whining.

9.00pm ends - MOE book Edutorium till 9.00pm, thereafter no more central air-conditioning (I suspect).

I wonder what would be the criteria for the selection of the parents to attend the briefing? Will those who signed the petition be selected since they are the most vocal and have their reasons to feel aggrieved? Or will this same group be left out again for the same reason?

We suggested using a larger venue since all in all about 1000 people attended in the last new principal briefing for the 3 schools combined. The next session might go into June holidays where a number of families are going away. Also I know amongst the affected parents, some who have signed up offered to give up one of the seat but the reply was cannot Liao. Hope moe is reading this forum so they can reconsider the way they arrange this event and provide enough places.
