      Hi Dion,

Some form of pressure is required to push forward...but after that peak line, too much pressure will work against the child/adult. This is the advise repeated by my doctor.

My son is rather bochap 😢 even though SA2 (year end exam) is just next month. Yours truly here is more stressed to see him like this.
      Hi janet_lee88.

So is your son competitive in school?

Mine is very bo chap in K1 now. She is always the last to hand up her homework because she is too involved with chatting, looking, day-dreaming etc..argh! She needs alot of encouragement & attention from us to do her work.

      Hi IJJ,
May I know how you got to transferred your darling to PHPPS? I think I don't stand high chance...because I just checked on the website that my address is just out 2km. sigh....

Mine was only transfered at P2 2nd semester. Just placed her name beginning of P2 with P1 results. After SA1, they called me to ask me of her P2 SA1 results (wanted to ask me fax but we were out of town, hence just gave them verbally) and 3 days later, they confirmed a place for her. I think we are quite fortunate. šŸ˜‰ Waited for 6 mths. Don't be disheartened, its possible.

      Hi IJJ,
May I know what was your darling previous school? She did very well for PHPPS to accept her?

      Hi Dion,

I wish you all the best. Do try your luck.
As for PHPPS, I would say we all have our grouses if you refer to earlier posts (after SA1). As for the teachers, personally I'm satisfied.
It's stressful as the students are competitive but I believe it gives my son a good grounding and discipline (discipline is strict).
      Hi Janet_lee88,

      Thanks!
Yes, I agree that stress can work to be good for children at young age if we handle it well. Hope you & your darling enjoy primary school life & hope I can join you guys one day... hahaha

      Hi Dion,

We received the letter and it was a rejection letter to be PV. I felt so down šŸ˜ž then...but hubby said to try for 2C. It was a stressful time then (Dragon babies) but the chances of getting in were much higher then, as there weren't so many condos.

As for wait list, I think what IJJ mentioned is a good idea. My son has several new classmates since P2. Along the way, some kids leave the school for reasons like parent(s) posted overseas, migrate to other countries etc. So, don't lose hope.
      Hi all,

Thank you so much for the encouragement! šŸ™‚ Yes, will try at P2C registration, else may try at Pri2. We shall see... Just another question, r u all very happy with PHPPS teaching so far? No regrets entering this school?

Where did you stay? Or maybe you can transfer your child to a hot school when he or she is in PS. But make sure have good result lor. šŸ˜ž

Staying at Hillview, The Petals... šŸ˜‰
Not sure of the exact distance since PHPPS did not reply me on that.

heehee thanks! actually feeling better now. For awhile, I still can't believe the cruel fact that Im not selected as PV. Especially when I really like the school. I used to study at Ngee Ann Poly & thought I will send my kids here to study. hahaha
But now, I guess I'm ok. Have wrote to PHPPS to find out the exact distance. If within 2km, I will trust in God & register at phase 2C. If not within 2 km, then will try in other schools. šŸ™‚

      Hi Dion,

I received a letter of rejection too. But we were called at the last minute whether still keen to be PV. So don't worry, perhaps your case could be like mine.
      Hi janet_lee88,

Good for you! I called the school today & they told me that they will indicate whether we are on wait list or its a clear rejection. sigh! & mine was a rejection! looks like not high chance.

Now so late, not sure whether other school still has opening for PV...

But I still like PHPPS. sigh.

      Hi mummies,

I just received letter that our application for PV was rejected. šŸ˜ž Was wondering whether any mummies here managed to get in without PV? My address is 1-2km. Not sure whether next year I should register with PHPS or its a sure 'no case'?

Sorry to hear that. You can try to see if Phase C stand a good chance for 1-2km by checking out on past year stats. If all alse failed, place yours on waiting list as early as possible. You may still stand a chance.

I don't have better advise as mine was a transferred case.
