Hi,

Do let me know how's the bus service. I heard some parents complained about the bad service and would like to hear those feedback. For confidentiality, you can pm me instead.

      Thanks![/q

      Hi Oldies,

Generally, it depends on which bus number that runs your area. We used to have 2 ex-bus uncles whom the kids liked and very responsible but this recent one my 2 kids complained and didn't like him from day 1. This bus driver didn't allow the kids to eat in the bus though I understand he was afraid the smell and the kids littered the bus. I still think at least restrict them eat something light eg. bread cos the poor kids from morning session dismissed at 1.30pm and by the time some of them reached home will be 2.15-2.30pm. And imagine if their recess is at 9.30 how are they going to tahan till reach home?!

The next thing was the bus driver told the kids to keep quiet and no talking in the bus?! This is really ridiculous, I think. The bus driver wrote down the names of kids who talked and passed to Mr Quek who is the Operational Manager of Rosyth! I called the bus company though my kids not listed in his list and gave them a piece of mind saying the new bus uncle shouldn't drive school bus! How can he stopped the kids from talking cos kids are kids, they tend to chat with bus friends. He can ask the kids to lower their volume if they talked too loudly but he cannot ask them to keep quiet!

I certainly hope that Rosyth will change their contract with the bus company cos the drivers are no longer as considerate as before and I have seen some foreign bus drivers driving very fast once they are out the school gate. And the only thing I am thankful is that my kids' bus driver is not foreigner.

      Hi dohdoh,
It's good to feedback to Rosyth Ops Manager so that when it's time to review the bus service contract, there will be some forms of records for the school to review. Else Rosyth will assumed no complains means good service rendered which is not true.
Hi Oldies,

Not sure if other parents got same or other complains cos later people label me as over protective mummy. Lol.

My DS is in Punggol branch. I was quite shocked when i heard from my DS. I guess the practise differs from teacher to teacher.

Appreciate if anyone can recommend me a good P1 teacher from Beijing. I can consider Punggol/Sengkang branch.

      Thanks!

Hi Heyhoe, I just checked with my 2 kids m they said that those who didnt learn their spelling will be asked to copy from the list n the teacher will either write above as corrections "改正"or "抄写"n no marks given.

I wonder if they teach 'angmoh' kids to learn from scratch? My kids are Eurasians, they've never been exposed to Mandarin other than the one or two words I tell them.

Hi Myebelle, I believe the school does teach any races who wants to learn Chinese cos I saw Indian students too.

      Dear Ladies,

Thanks for the feedback. Do Beijing language school teach tingxie for K1?

My youngest ds in K1 is already having problem coping with his weekly tingxie. If he goes to Beijing language school and there is tingxie, I think I'll be more stress teaching him to write.

Also, doh doh can you recommend good teacher for K1, P1 and P4 in Punggol?

      Thanks!
Hi Heyhoe, sorry for late reply cos changed my phone n couldn't log in. My elder one is in P4 n she took up BJ creative writing last year but didnt like BJ cos teacher didn't really go thru all the helping words. This year cos she is in higher Chinese class n we can't teach creative writing so we enrolled her to HCL in Bishan. It was good but we felt group tuition might not be able to tackle her weakness in comprehension n composition hence we engaged a private tutor for her now.

Hi Micollh, Beijing Language is more advance in teaching during the preschool time but when it reaches Primary, the kids know quite a number of words. It is a good thing that they start teaching HYPY at K1 though some kids might get mixed up with phonics. Cos K2 they will teach the blending. My son is good in HYPY now. Lol
