livewith_vanilla:i miss the rushing time! and also psle!! those time was awesome!Hi parents !
Dun be  :x :?: when it seems that your DD/DS teachers have finished their 6A books and practices ! It's normal. My teacher also rushed through. She didn't even teach. She taught the p6 new topics but other than that we were on our own. Her homework was very vague and like this:
Complete as much as you can for 6A maths workbook and homework book
Complete your editing and synthesis and transformation book
Complete as many practice papers as you can.
yeah, so basically, we ditched our social studies and music for academics. I only remember having music lessons for the first term ? Social studies for first half of the year.
After that it was English,Maths,Science,MT and PE. Just that. No Health Ed either.
After the June hols it was just basically finishing the correction for the books and starting on outside school papers
By prelims, we were doing purely notes, revision and practice papers.
After PSLE, freedom.
Your kids will get used to it. It took me about a month to adjust. Now, I miss the rushing times.

RE: Top 20 secondary school in Singapore
daisyt:
awesome better than fuhua??WeiHan:
BPGHS should maybe in time become a SAP school. I have watch this year National Science Challenge in TCS5 and the boys from BPG perform extremely well and is the first school to get into the finals beating school like NUSHS in episode 5.
And BPGHS is the overall champion for this year NJRC 09 (National Junior Robotic Compeition). So they got to go Japan end of this year.

But schools now are simply too strict. A little longer nails can cause him or her to be scolded. Pity students.
Rules are in place for a particular reason. Not a matter of a school being too strict. A school that allows long finger nails and nail poilsh speaks volumes about its discipline and I definitely won't put my child in such a school.
exactly i agree with u 25 hour maid

My child has 250+2 with 2A and 2A*. She's planning to appeal to NJC. Does she really need to put NJC as first choice, she missed last yr's COP by 7 points. Icalled NJC, ,they only have 190 places left Anyone understand how the system works?
I assume students are all placed in a straight line starting from the top student first choice school.
Am i right to say, all will be given first choice school first if they meet the COP. Then all the remaining student who missed by first choice will be lined in straight line again to check if their second choice school still have vacancy?
REALLY NEEDED ADVICE AS SHE HAS DONE S1 OPTION. Understand still have chance to alter. She has placed
1. RVH
2. NJC
3 St Nick
Which school offer your daughter?
should be posted to st. nic(i was posted to this school too!)
oh my god i was in 1 truth before i was transferred to nan hua!
doublesmile10,
So am I right to say that you were posted to St Nic then later transferred to Nan Hua and in between you were appealing to get into RVH? Whoa, your result must be good that you can get a transfer and at the same time do the appeal to get into RVH!
no la i am not good! my appeal to rvhs not successful

RE: All About T-Score
ppnqq:
Thanks for the reply but I am not looking at the max score. I just wanted to know how to calculate the individual subject score (ave) if the PSLE score is eg 230/300. Well you see, per subj is over 100, so for 4 subj would be 400 but for PSLE agg score is 300. So I would like to know what is the formula for deriving the ave score for the individual subj base on an agg of 230/300. Thank y ou.
There is no such thing as maximum t score the t score can be over 300 provided that the paper is very difficult
There is no maximum score for PSLE. But the average score would be 57.5 for 230/4.autolycus:
Would like to know the formula as I am very poor in Maths.
What is the average score for each subject (total 4 subjects) if one scored 230/300 for PSLE?
