DSA via general academics is still there, so not sure how reasonable it can be this year...
No general academics, only specific academic subject, e.g. Maths, science, English, mother tongue.

RI and HCI, applicants in same domain go through same process, should be fair.

Just received unsuccessful from CHS....now we are not confident of HCI interview already...so does HCI interview everybody who apply?

No, not every applicant, only selected.

Yes, different as confirmed with their DSA admin.

This year no gat and moe requirement, everyone must go through hdp.
Last year most MS first took gat, then hdp, then interview. Most GEP with good academic results directly went into interview, some not so good got hdp first.

Just to clarify, you mean that RI DSA admin told you that it is MOE requirement that everyone must go through HDP?

Yes, moe requires everyone must go through same process.

We should be receiving this week my guess.

I hope it's latest by this week as well. Seems like the RI DSA process this year is slightly different from last year. From last year's forum, I read the interview is held before the HDP. But it's the reverse for this year. Wondering if there's anyone who skips the HDP and goes direct for interview? :scratchhead:
What are the chances for those who attended the interview but not called for half day program at RGS? Any idea?

Thanks

No clue at all??

Hi Ansa and Honeywell, can i know your dd from MS or GEP?
My dd is from MS and at least 4 of her classmates(after interview) are also selected for HDP, just wondering are there any GEP going for HDP. Or GEP can skip HDP??

Hi Scotia, DD is GEP, but she have GEP classmates who applied for the same domain (EL) going for this HDP too.
None of DS's classmates is called for hdp after interview, but one schoolmate is, she is el domain. All are gep.
I agree this will be good for parents, but I think the schools will need the domain tests to do one round of selection, otherwise it will be too much for them to interview all. Somehow, I really appreciate how HCI conducted their selection, at least for the domain my DS applied for. Two rounds of interview in one morning, and it's waiting time all the way till end Aug for the results.

Hi Myteapot, Do you mean HCi won't have paper test as 2nd round? Did you call and confirm with school?

Hi smiling, no I did not call n confirm w school. But I interprete as such as there was no mention of 2nd round in their DSA website. Everything was spelt out so clearly even the date of interview notification, which was adhered to. Not sure though, if there's any paper test for the academic domain.
No second round interview for HCI. 2 interviews (1 general 1 domain) on the same day, domain test was included in domain interview, only a few questions. In total 2 hours including break.

Listed below are the details on the DSA Exercise for Admission into Seconday 1 2018 for some of the more popular schools.

Raffles Girls' School and Raffles Institution
Both schools have decided to do away with the GAT this year (2017). For those applying under the academic domain, selection for interviews will be based on portfolio and academic results of the students. All students selected will have to go through an interview and only a selected few will have to attend selection tests based on the domain applied for. For those applying under the sports and music domains, trials and auditions will still remain and interviews will also be conducted for these students.

Singapore Chinese Girls' School
SCGS has decided to do away with the GAT this year (2017). For students applying under CCA and music domains, there will be trains/auditions and an interview. For students applying under the academic domain, there will be a written subject test and an interview. For students applying under leadership, an interview and a testimonial from the Primary School will be required.

Methodist Girls' School
For students applying for admission to IP track, there will be a HAST test. For students applying under CCA, drama or music domains (under O level track), there will be trains/auditions. All selected students will have to go for an interview. As for now, there is no information on students applying under the academic domai (O level track).

ACS Independent
For students applying for admission to IP track, there will be a HAST test. For students applying under CCA, drama or music domains (Express Programme), there will be trains/auditions. Interviews will only be conducted if deemed necessary.

Hi, does anyone know if the results of the half day camp will be released to all on the same day, regardless of whether selected for next round of interview or unsuccessful?
All will be informed whether successful or unsuccessful, by two weeks time from hdp. DS is sure about this info, by email he is 90% sure.
