Yes positive attitude very important. My relative had stomach cancer stage 3. She managed to overcome it and is now cancer free for the past 6 years but it was an uphill battle and also over her fears and emotions. Your friend has a good friend in you. Helping her stay positive and having a fighting spirit is very important.

Hi TAS,
Will you have other holiday programme timings other that 4-5 June? We are going overseas then. -

Thank you! I will get these books. I have Andrew Er's books but not tried Intensive Math.eksmummy:
What kind of books are recommended to help kids who are average? My ds who is in P4 cannot cope with onsponge. But I heard that it is the best?
Like I share, Onsponge is suitable for students who can achieve band 1 result. But then some of the methods used by Onsponge are too 'chim' to understand when some easier methods can be used.
You may want to try \"Intensive Math's\" by EPH. It has three levels of difficulty to practice on. Obviously the third level is most difficult. You can see how far your child can cope. If ds can do well, Andrew Er's books will be the next level to try out.
God bless you ur ds. -

Thank you very much TAS parents for answering my queries. I may most probably join TAS holiday programmes and then see how from there. This distance is still something I have to doubly consider if I join their regular classes.
By the way, anyone knows when their volume 2 of the creative writing book will be sold at Popular. I introduced it to my friends and they want to get at Popular as Ang Mo Kio is a bit far for them to travel down to get. -
RE: The Alternative Story (TAS) - Discussion
Hi parents who have kids for a while at TAS,
May I know how long does it take for a child to be able to write well like the kids who have written in the book volume 2?
I would like to know from those parents who have been with TAS for at least a year or so because I know that English is something that is harder to pick up than math and science. So I know that if my kids just go for holiday classes at TAS, they may not be able to write that well yet unless they are very good which they are not. I am thinking if I should send my kids to TAS for regular classes despite the distance.
Right now, they are at another centre but not much improvement. But I know that good writing takes a while and for children to write this well, it probably takes at least a year or more? But just want to know roughly how long it takes because in the long run, I am hoping to do away with tuition for them and just send for holiday classes. I don’t expect them to write so well like the kids in the book but at least write well enough for me not to want to vomit blood when I read their work.
On a side note, anyone just send for holiday classes at TAS before?
Thank you very much for any feedback. -

Thanks TAS for selling the book to non-TAS parents like myself. I got the book on Sunday and my ds was pouring over it yesterday. He kept laughing to himself at certain parts. He does not like to read much but he was engrossed in the stories.
Will you be having a June holiday class? We live quite far from your existing branches but I would like my dd and ds to join you for the holidays. -
