As a FTWM, I has been taking half take leave for the last 2 weeks to coach my DS and today is his last paper, hope he can score in his fav subject.

But now I am stressed about how many points he can get for T-score.
He is week in CL & EL..

Am a FTWM too!

Don't be stressed. Go celebrate that it's finally over!!!

I've been on leave too. DD & I are actually a little sad that this is over. She loves the pampering & i'm so going to miss spending so much time with her.

Dear fellow FTWMs ,
Big sigh of relief after tomorrow's HCL paper. :rahrah: Rearranging my work schedule to be home for DD these few weeks really had many benefits - but after this.. gotta Chiong my own work !! πŸ˜“
Last day of exams!! πŸ•Ί

Already told DD that I'm very happy effort with the effort she's put in.

Fellow parents, celebrate if your DC has put in great effort!!

Remember, the school will surely make SA1 tough to \"scare\" us into making sure the the kids are 110% ready for PSLE.

Like Chenonceau, I decided last year that we will not DSA - mainly coz we are still undecided which school to choose. No perfect fit for this idealistic mum/DD pair.

Hi Peony,

:hi5: my DD also having last paper today for SA1.

Today after the paper is over, most of the results will be announced ! :nailbite: πŸ˜“

Keeping my :xedfingers: and πŸ™ !

Whatever the results, good or bad, we will just move on. Shall take a short break before we tackle on the weaker areas and prepare for the next challenge - Prelims !

All the best to all parents and their DD or DS who are still having their SA1 exams. :rahrah:

My DD still have scienc epaper tomorrow... sigh...
Mine still has to survive through the weekend for a final paper on monday 😞

• RE: Malaysian Food Street at Resorts World Sentosa

We tried the black (hokkien) noodles a couple weeks back . The noodles were precooked and left in the wok to sit . By the time it landed on our plates, they were somewhat soggy and steamed.

Taste wise - the sauce a little too salty for my liking.

Personally, I liked the Penang prawn noodles best :boogie:

• RE: Temasek Primary

kiasu mummy:
Is CCA compulsary for P1 students at Temasek? I heard robotics is popular there? Any adv on how a child select CCA? accordance to their interest?

CCA not compulsory for P1 in Temasek Pri (TPS) .
Robotics as CCA is very popular but available from P3 onwards. also very costly .
Some CCAs are offered from P1 onwards, like dance.
I allow my children to take as many CCAs as they like between P1 and P3 , even changing CCA year to year as I feel that it gives them opportunity to learn new skills and try new CCAs.
By P4, they must settle down to just 1 or 2 CCAs
Hope this helps :boogie:

• RE: All About Full-Time Maids

Seems the $500 is no deterent if maid wants to take off and not return to work. I kept $500 from my Filipino maid when we allowed her early home leave to celebrate her father’s birthday.

We had purchaesd return airtickets, loaned her our luggage and gave gifts to her family.
she did not turn up at the airport on the date of return.
We felt so cheated !

my maid went on home leave 2 months before end of contract with her promise to return back and work for another 2 years.. But she never turned up at the airport on the date of arrival .

we felt so cheated as we had in acceded to her request to go back so that she could celebrate her father's birthday and in good faith loaned her a luggage & purchased return tickets & some pocket money .

if anyone out there are considering hiring a maid named Felgelyn Regidor from the Philippines .. BEWARE .. !!. :x

• RE: Cure for sorethroat/loss of voice

Sore throat ? gargling with potent solution of salt and water works for me every time. For my kids, i use boiled water and encourage them to take half a mouthful and make loud noises as they gargle . The louder the better as the salt solution really gets into the deepest parts of the throat naturally .

• RE: Recommended English Books

My son used to be a non reader … reads only afew books per year or comics until last christmas when i bought him book 1 from a series called The 39Clues. Now he is absolutely glued to the books . The series currently has 7 books , each comes with a pack of 6 clue cards that he would use to uncover the 39 clues.

If you want to borrow the books from the national library, look under authors Langaris or Watson.

Now, that his appetite is whet , my son is more open to read alot more other lbooks similar to the 39Clues series … Hooray!
