i just bought manuka honey UMF10 from http://www.buymanukahoneyonline.com.sg

Anyone know why WildFavor Manuka Honey can only be bought in Singapore?

This brand is not found elsewhere?

Interesting to note that wildfavor manuka honey is packed and labelled in NZ by Honey Valley New Zealand limited for a local company.

However a Honey Valley labelled UMF 15+ 500g from Honeyworld in Singapore costs $82 whereas a wildfavor UMF 15+ 500g costs $55.

      Harlequin:
Hi, just to share... there are only a handful of Manuka honey suppliers in NZ... they sold the honey in barrels, in tons, to different brands, those so called manufacturers to package and market.... most of the familiar brands in the market are sourcing their honey from the same supplier. There isn't really much difference, really.

      hi,
      just found an interesting site

      http://www.manukahoneysingapore.com.sg

where it contains some useful information as well as a list of umf honey producers/brands in New Zealand. I am wondering how do we tell if we buy the so called rebranded manuka honey that they in fact has been tested for non-peroxide antibacterial activity and labeled correctly?

      Cheers

    • RE: Manuka Honey

      Hi anyone,

My DD always have some sorethroat and phlegm.

I have read through the first 20 or 30 pages. Can I summarize that the most popular brands bought here in Singapore are:
      1. HNZ
      2. Manuka Health
      3. Comvita

How about Haddrell of Cambridge? Is that ok?

How about the UMF. Should we go for UMF 10+ or UMF 15+
Any advice would be much appreciated?

      Cheers

      Hi,

For PRs, they mentioned must bring original passport, birth certs etc… Is that really necessary?

      Thanks.

    • RE: Secondary 1 Reporting Day on Dec 20

      Hi,

Can anyone tell me if you have to decide on selecting HCL for sec 1 tomorrow on the 20th.

What are the pros and cons for selecting HCL? I understand that if you do HCL, you don’t have to do it in A-level

      Thanks in advance.

      Cheers

    • RE: Bell Curve - To remove or not to remove?

      bupashu:

by raw scores, there will be many pupils with the same aggregate scores

hence the raw scores have to be transformed (hence the name t-score = transformed score) to take into account how \"easy\" or \"difficult\" of each subject (measured by mean & SD)...in order to rank the pupils for the purpose of sec one posting

the whole exercise of t-score is just for the single purpose of sec school allocation by merit and nothing else. the guy ranked higher will choose his sec school first. that's it

t-score is not a measure of cleverness or ability (in a narrow sense) but it takes into account carelessness on the actual exam day

and it is totally meaningless to compare t-scores across different years / cohort...as there is zero meaning to rank one guy from this year against another guy from another year...

if everyone is given unlimited amount of time, everyone will score full marks and have the same score

the guy who \"invented\" the t-score formula is now the principal of NUSH

well, for those people who demand for \"transparency\" aren't they insinuating there is cover up ? after all the t-score formula is not a state secret, and the PSLE markers are their teachers
thanks for a good summary for the need for t-score.

Do you know the reason(s) why raw scores cannot be published to the individual student in addition to the t-score?

    • RE: Third languages

      enoawng:

      Hi,

Any anyone tell me whether it is compulsory to submit third language option MSP (Malay) etc.. when registering S1?

If you don't do it now, will you have to do it later?

      Thanks

      Hi, enoawng.

It's not compulsory to opt for a 3rd Language, but it's compulsory to submit the option form by the S1 Posting submission date. If you are not interested, you will need to indicate -NIL- at all the 3 columns of choices.

If you do not exercise your 3rd Language option with this S1 Posting Exercise, you will not be allowed to do it in future.

      Hope this helps.

      Hi Koh,
      thanks. One more question.
If you elect 3rd language option now during S1, can you withdraw without any penalties later if the child does not like it?

      Cheers
