My gal is 14 and her height has been stagnant for 4 years at 147cm. I had checked with a few GPs she saw since a year ago whenever she was ill n they all said nothing can be done especially if she had had menses for 2 years or more. Till recently, a GP advised that I could get her checked by an endocrinologist. There r 2 options , either thru GP referral to KK ( they do not accept polyclinic referral for these cases somehow) or visit private practices.
I went online n found this highly recommended Dr Warren Lee. Further enquiries revealed his charges to be $6 per min and first consultation usually start from around $400 not including tests to be run. As his charges r beyond what I can afford, I hope that parents who have walked down this road will be able to recommend other paedatric endocrinologists.
The consultation charges at KK are around $140 I was told, but will entail a longer wait.

Sorry to ride on this thread, my younger gal will be taking her PSLE next year and she desperately need help in her Sciemce as she is scoring only 60 plus. I am trying to find a science tutor to work with her on her weaknesses. Does anyone have any to good and experienced tutor to recommend please? Thanks.

On another note, I have an elder gal in Sec 1 this year and would like to share my experience. With regard to the purchase of books n uniforms, you may want to try calling the school bookshop once the posting resuts are out to find out if they are open prior orientation and if you van get the sec 1 books. As for uniforms, can try the school website to check the supplier and then go to their shop to purchase. On orientation day itself, it can be stressful to try on uniforms and the supplier may even run out of size. Hope this helps.

Hi! My daughter is 11 and started menses 6 mths ago. However, for the past 2 mths, the menses has not stopped. She is having light to regular menses everyday. Brought her to KK and saw a registrar. Prescribed her hormone pills. Supposed to take for 3 weeks to stop menses and stop 1 week for it to come. However, after taking 10 days, menses came back n heavier than usual. Have not done any Scan yet as long appt Q for machines. I cannot believe the whole KK not enough machines to do an ultrasound. I m worried. This, looking for any good gynae who has experience with adolescents. Thanks.

Hi all, our kids will be the first batch sitting for the 2017 psle oral Chinese format. As my child does not have tuition, I m at a loss on how to coach her. Popular does not carry any book using the new format. I m wondering if there r any websites besides etutor that has good material and allows the child to get some practise. Hope someone can advise. My gal is almost 13 and has been having some pimples on her forehead as well as her cheeks. There is also some scarring and noticeable blackheads on her cheek. She is presently using tea tree oil range from body shop. Thinking of bringing her for a basic facial which is moderately priced. Any recommendations? Thanks.
