Mrs Ang:
ExpatMum, not sure will this IPC Curriculum good for kids going to government Primary School.

As with all decisions with regards to our children it is down to personal choice. Have a look at many schools, ask lots of question. Go with your gut feel, you will know if it is right. I would like to develop a well round child who can think for themselves and see outside the box. One of the huge plus points go living in Singapore is the diverse education opportunities available to our children. I hope this helps. A happy child will learn. :rahrah:
Hi, are there any good montessori childcare or kindergarten in Bukit Panjang, Upper Bukit Timah, CCK and Bukit Batok area? TIA

Arts Kidz have a branch at The Old Fire Station, Upper Bukit Timah. They are not a Montessori but they follow the \"IPC Curriculum\". The specialised in the Arts. Have a look at http://www.artskidz.com.sg :rahrah:

Sorry only notice your post today. What is \"IPC Curriculum\"?
IPC curriculum is \"International Primary Curriculum\". \"An engaging, rigorous, internationally-minded, thematic curriculum for 3-11 year olds throughout the world\"

SJI are using this curriculum too in Singapore.

There is a website on this curriculum have a look at http://www.greatlearning.com/ipc/

Here is a little something from the website. Welcome to the IPC

The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is one of the fastest-growing curriculums in the world today.

Great learning, great teaching and great fun…

It is a comprehensive curriculum with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for personal learning and for international mindedness. The IPC is now the curriculum choice of international and national schools in over 1,500 schools in 85 countries around the world.

      Sounds fun!

    • RE: Pre school Arts Kidz

Arts Kidz now have two branches, one at Tiong Bahru and a new branch at Bukit Timah. BT offers a international calendar which suits the many expats in the area. Their curriculum focus' on The Arts and there is a firm believing that if the children are interested and stimulated they will learn. The children are happy and focused and they put on a pretty impressive concert at the end of each year. They offer 2nd Program of Mandarin, Japanese and Korean and the everyday language is English. The children participate in Violin and Music lessons aswell as a yoga type program. Type children are fully prepared for primary 1 by the time they complete K2. A real mix of children from locals to Internationals. Worth every penny - I see no reason to send my children for extra tuition as they do it all at Arts Kidz!

Over all I am very happy.

      Hello,

Anyone have any feedback for the above CC?

It is better to spend more money on a CC or save the money and send them for enrichment classess?

      Thanks!

      Trina:
Chateau de Sable. Beautiful dresses for your girls.

I wish I can put my 1 year old and 10 year old in similar dresses but the older one is no longer interested in wearing a dress.
Stunning clothes I love this place

    • RE: Advice on approaching teacher

      riash:
My 4 yr old has mentioned on at least 3 occaisions that his teacher calls him and other students 'stupid'. I dismissed most of the instances but I am starting to wonder if its true. How can i tell? Should I speak with the teacher or the principal? I hope to do this in a diplomatic way. Anyone has experiences or ideas?

YES YES YES! I hope the teacher does not call him STUPID. But do remember there is a difference in saying something or an action is stupid than calling someone stupid. I personally do not like that word but I do know others that use it to describe an action rather than name calling. If anything is worrying you - you should always speak to the teachers. 😄
