For the schools with GEP, just a suggestion to indicate whether the top scorers are from the GEP classes - coz for Rosyth, top 3 scorers(to my knowledge) came from GEP, NYPS top 5 scorers came from GEP etc....

These schools are \"top\" because of the GEP students, but i think the mainstream results would be a better determinant of whether a school can deliver results.

For RGPS, top 15 scorers all above 270, all from the GEP classes ... hmm

      Rulang is non-GEP school, still 12 pupils >=270 this year, 20 pupils >= 270 for year 2009.

Can someone make an informed guess of how many psle candidates scoring 270 and above?

      Approximately 90-110?

      276-282 there's 17.

      So little? Rulang has 12 pupils > 270, 32 pupils got 4 A star.

Puzzled about the Bonus Point of Higher Chinese for SAP schools: will the 1-3 Bonus Point be added in the score directly or it only works when the candidates' score are same? For example, my aughter got 260+3, will her score be 263 when she apply NYHS? or still 260 but the 3 will be added only when other candidates are also 260? in other words, if there is one 260+3 and one 262, who has the chance?

For SAP schools, they will grab 260+ 3 1st, then 263 + 0 , this is their rules.
Ya. Very impressed with Rulang's achievement in 2010. And we were also very impressed when the sch announced last yr top 20 PSLE scorers and found out all went to top schs; namely RGS, Nanyang Girls' RI and HCI (the most number of students went to RI). I forgot the exact number. ttyh, do u have the numbers?

I thought I saw 4 names under each school - RI, NY, HCI...
In 2009, 20 students from Rulang got PLSE score >= 270, better than some of GEP school.

Dear EY2001, if your DD is good with Math, there will still be lots of opportunities for her. I believe MOE tracks those kids who got into 2nd round and their strong area - math and/or english. These kids are invited to MOE GEP organised programmes. I believe the child's school is informed too and they are exposed to Math/Science Olympiad training and workshops.

This is based on what I've observed. So when my DD participates in activities/competitions, there's usually a group from mainstream who will join. Some will always be present for Math-based activities, while some others will be present for English-based activities. Of course, there is also a handful of all-rounders who will be selected for both sets of activities.
Hello EY2001, did your DD get into GEP?

No, her English is not up to the standard,
6 from her class got in, quite sad.congrats to you.
True, My DS1 did not get in GEP 7 years ago, but I trained him Maths Olympia and he got Platinum in SMOP in P6, got in Hwachong thru DSA - invited by the school, then joined Hwachong School-based GEP. quite good now.
For DD2, need to train her for Maths again lah! but not so easy maybe .

Is your dd as postive as you? šŸ˜„

Yes, I did teach her how to do GEP type questions.

Wow!, you might be really smart to know how to teach. Even though if you dd didn't enter GEP ( Touch wood ), you would be popular with other parents who are keen for the children to enter GEP. Care to share how you teach?
Anyway, all the best to your dd.
For Maths and GA only lah - IQ maths, Olympiad Maths, GA mainy on picture pattern.
