The pic of a couple kissing for a contest. The girl is wearing RV PE t-stirt.
do not recall there was any kissing contest news yesterday
anyway, not only RV, but all schools should discourage this...

RE: Hong Kong has a lot to learn from Singapore
janet_lee88:
We need to move with the times. If ROC is ruling China instead of PRC, they may also adopt Simplified Chinese too.
hong kongers and Taiwanese are the only 2 countries using traditional Chinese...and they pride themselves as being 文化. we are criticized for using simplified (considered 'mass market') and also hanyu pinyin.
hong kongers have no qualms showing up on the streets to show their displeasure in huge numbers.
Showing up on the streets - this happen in almost every where. -
RE: Hong Kong has a lot to learn from Singapore
janet_lee88:
It is a matter of time before HK adopt simplified Chinese because of China.Singaporeans are very 乖, so whatever law, just follow law.
Paparazzi is not scary here unlike in hongkong.
Don't expect big strikes...will lead to serious consequences.
Yes, we are often criticized for using simplified Chinese...不够文化. -
RE: Dunman High School (Junior High)
Augmum:
Dont mean to compare....but
At least 3 distinctions in H2 subjects:FanFanX:
I read from the Straits Times (4 Mar 2014) for the 'A' Levels results:
1) Hwa Chong Institution - >60% scored at least 3 A in H2.
2) Raffles Institution - >67% scored at least 3 A in H2, 4 had 9 distinctions.
3) River Valley School - >16% (or exactly 68/415) scored at least 6 A.
Not really apple-to-apple comparison to DHS since the DHS published results showed number of distinctions instead.
Anyone with more info or comments kindly add on.
Cheers to all the 2013 DHS graduates for doing well in their A Levels! And not forgetting all the parents and guardians for their unwavering support given to their child/ward. Hip hip hooray!!!
- RI (67%)
- HCI (60%)
- VJC (50%)
- NJC (48%)
- DHS (46%)
- TJC (31%) (138 students with 3 H2 distinctions, 109 students with 4 H2 distinctions, assuming cohort size of 800))
- RVHS (28%)
- AJC (23%) (186 students with at least 3 H2 distinctions, assuming cohort size of 800)
Your ranking of the above is only based on 3 H2 Distinctions....
If ranked based on at least 6 Distinctions, (6 subjs) which is more meaningful for the computation of UAS for Uni entry...
It will placed DHS at a higher rank ...
Since there are 106 students who attained at least 6 Distinctions, out of 390 cohort size....
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought 3 H2 is the standard. Many other JCs/schools may not have student with 6 distinctions.
