She said teacher will take down names of students who do not submit homework and followup during the next lesson. Higher chinese teacher is very strict and student has to retake tingxie if dont pass. Not sure what happened to yr colleague's daughter class..School is academic focus and delivers good O level results. A lot go to NYJC after Os..Overall we are very happy with the school as they also give plenty of opportunities for students to take up leadership positions.
My colleague’s daughter went in with psle score. This year sec 2. The colleague mentioned that the teachers in his daughter’s classes do not care whether or not you hand in homework. So most students in his daughter’s class do not bother with homework. Which he feels is not good. Of course we do not know what the situation is in other classes.

RE: 2021 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2009)
Yup
I did check with my boy before posting, hence I was aware of the topics not covered.
Its true that the teachers were going through MCQ via zoom, however when I asked my boy he cannot remember where he made the mistakes. :stupid: This week some going through OEQ, but since he already cannot remember his answers to MCQ, i doubt he can remember his mistakes in OEQ
Just wondering if other parents facing similar issues. Heard some schools did not even manage to finish SA1. -
RE: 2021 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2009)
Is it just my son school? SA1 finished just before HBL, but paper will only be returned in term3. Teacher will probably tell us the results but honestly, i prefer they give us back the paper so we can revise on the weak areas.
Maths topics not finished yet. Teaching Volume through HBL now. Speed and Pie chart not covered yet
Science going through adaptations now. Interactions not done
Chinese - i think only started 1 chapter in 6B.
Suppose to have supplementary during first week of June holidays - that has shifted to HBL as well.
I am worried whether can finish all the topics and revision in time? Last year P5, this batch already rushed through a lot of impt topics via HBL. Honestly I dont think the topics Fraction and Ratio was taught well through HBL last year.
Am I the only one paranoid here? -

RE: scoliosis
Hi natgoh, my 13 yo girl is in the same situation. She is at risser 0 and has not had menses yet, She was diagnosed last year and she started wearing her brace around Nov last yr. We also tried physiotherapy, specifically Schroth. When she first started bracing, her degree was only 22 on top and 26 bottom (S curve). Recent checkup at KKH showed that her degree has progressed to 32 for upper curve and 29 for lower curve. Honestly we are very sad about the result. She has been wearing almost 18 hours daily, except on days when she had PE. She also does the Schroth exercises 4 to 5x a week. At the advice of the therapist, we decided to change her brace as she grew around 5 cm and has "outgrown" her brace. The brace that we ordered this time is the Rigo Cheneau brace which is even more bulky than the previous brace. Now I made her wear it to sch everyday, even during PE days. She wears the uniqlo singlets underneath her brace. I pack an extra singlet for her in case the singlet gets wet… Although she has eczema, we are thankful that she did not have much flare-ups under the brace. When there are flare-ups, I apply aloe vera gel for her…It has been a very difficult journey for us all. But my girl understands that she needs to wear the brace for her own good.
Which brace did u order? My girl had no problem putting on the brace by herself and sleeping in it. The first few nights were tough but after that, she will find a comfy position and sleep through. We turn on the AC every nite for her to lessen the heat. The brace is definitely uncomfortable and my girl complains it is like 100 degree in her brace. There is resistance every now and then, like can I dont wear the brace to USS etc…But after the recent xray result, i kept on reminding her that the more hours she clock, the better the correction…let me know if u have any more queries, its a long journey for us all, lets jiayou together! -

Hi, anyone has feedback on CHIJ Toa Payoh vs PLMGS? Distance wise, CHIJ is slightly further but both are less than half hour journey for us.

Hi Hazeline, these affiliated schools have different COP for affiliates n non-affiliate. Eg CHIJ St Nick , COP is 230 with affiliation and 253 for non-affiliation. COP will increase this year for affiliate due to 20% set aside for non-affiliate.
I would think otherwise. Those schools who have to open up to outsides (eg.PLMGS) would see an increase in COP because previously, their COP was artificially lowered to accommodate the affiliated students.fivefingers\" post_id=\"1947863\" time=\"1574399906\" user_id=\"45568:
Want to seek opinion of parents here re the new 20% for non-affiliated. I know some schools COP will drop this year as they take in mostly their own pri students (like PLMGS) previously. Just wondering if anyone knows about schools like CHIJ St Nick or SCGS? Their COP is high for non-affiliate but I wonder if they have already started taking in more outsiders in previous years. If so, this means their COP is not \"artifically high\". My dd score 248, a bit short to go to her dream schools which are in the 250 range.
I am wondering if COP for non-affiliate will drop. If these schools traditionally already accept many non-affiliates, then COP for non-affiliate will likely maintain. Just wondering if any parents have infor re CHIJ St Nick and SCGS non-affilate % -

Just search Scoliosis Support Singapore and Scoliosis Management Singapore on FB. They are a closed group, u need to "apply" to be a member
Please note I am in no way related to any of any of the group. Just sharing info. All the best
