    • RE: All About Teaching Values

I feel that aside all values teaching to our children, we as adults must act in the way we want our kids to behave as well. After all for quite a number of years, they spend time looking at us act and listening to us speak. If we can’t instill a good habit for ourselves, we can’t expect our kids to be that way too.

Just imagine one day your kid decided to do something entirely different than you, you will be shocked and upset. However, it’s at that time that you realise you might have raised your child wrongly all these years.
Another example is: you want your child to save his/her pocket money to cultivate a habit of wise spending and prudent saving habits. However on the other hand, you spend like you are earning $1000/hr. How then do you expect your child to do something entirely different than the way you are showing them?

Here is the comparison of integrated shield plans by MOH. Do take note of \"(I) Claims return rate\" as well since it's important to us how fast we can get our claims.

    • RE: Money saving

Do note that with every disciplined amounts that you save, keep a portion in the bank for emergency as well. [Emergency Fund] Then there are ways to go about saving money with better interest as well depending on your needs and goals.

    • RE: Savings Vs Investment

Is your friend able to fork out this $5000/$7000 every year? If so, there are ways to go about it. Firstly you got to also ask her why does she want to invest this for and if she is able to do this amount at least for 5 years in a row. If so, I might be able to help you.

Do let me know after you have checked it out from her.

      Cheers!

      mksmn:
I have a friend who is a housewife and would like to have more \"income\" for herself. She is contemplating between fix deposit and investment that are safe as she is talking about only a 5k or 7k (I can't remember the exact amount).

She said the interest for fix deposit is very little base on her amount. Around $100+- per year (or two?). If she goes for investment, she is not sure which or what to go for as she is afraid of the risk involve and only wants some decent interest.

I can understand her situation as I used to be a housewife before too but I have no idea and knowledge in this area, thus couldn't provide any good advice for her.

Can someone give some good advice and suggestion please? If fix deposit, which bank yield a higher interest and if investment, which type and where can she goes to.

      TIA.
