foodplease:moonee:
I'm new here, so I don't really know how things work, but I just wanted to point out something.
Back in primary school, when we had silent reading, I remembered that if you brought the wrong book (wrong language for the day), you were made to stand. Alone. And if you repeat that offence, then you keep standing until you bring the right one. If the children repeated whatever action they were punished for, then isn't it only fair that they keep getting punished for it until they stop? Besides, it wasn't the sort of thing the teachers told the parents either; if your teacher called your parents, then you were in very, very, very deep trouble. Furthermore, once you were in P3, even the prefects patrolling can make you stand, without telling the teacher at all.
Not sure if they changed the policy already.
Obviously the punishment did not work as this lasted 3 months and no parent complained for 3 months. I guess parents had their reasons for not complaining, perhaps some felt the kids deseve the punishment while others may hv other reasons. If it was my dd I m not against the punishment but not 3 months everyday and 15 mins as my dd will definitely get dizzy spells ..I think the teacher took it too far. A good teacher should be more sensitive to the students well being too. She could hv changed her mode of punishment if one method dnt work, afterall punishments r meant to create awareness of mistakes made.
No parent knew about the punishment. 3 months passed before 2 girls told their parents.
total of 2 or 3 parents were interviewed by the press.
It was already mentioned parents did not know earlier and did consent.
The Vice Principal was at assembly almost everyday, she could not be blind.
That is why even parents from other classes talked about this issue.
I also asked my daughter, she affirmed that the VP almost every morning was there.
How to say, what excuse they want to give ????
Typo : did not consent.
