To be precise, the NYJC results reported in Reddit were based on information provided by students. They may be true, but just not verified by official sources.
The results are plausible, as the cohort had a higher proportion of science students as compared with other JCs with a more normal science to art stream ratio.
I think a more meaningful comparison can only be made beginning from 2026 when results reflect a normalized cohort. The removal of PW from RP calculations also eliminates variations in strictness of internal grading in schools.

In the hypothetical, the two Singaporeans will get posted in.
Merit should come first, base on gross score? The PR and gross 7 sporean would fill up the remaining 2 vacancies?
From MOE’s website:
Who gets priority when two applicants have the same net aggregate score?
If you have the same net aggregate score as another applicant and vying for the last place in a course, posting will be determined by citizenship status, in this order:
Singapore Citizens (SC)
Permanent Residents (PR)
International students
If both of you have same citizenship, e.g., SC, the one with a better gross aggregate score will be posted to the course.
If there is still a tie, a computerised ballot will decide the posting outcome. -

It appears that, because of the loophole, the past cohorts of NYJC had a higher proportion of science stream students compared to other JCs that played by the rules. Assuming it is true that it is generally harder to do well in Arts than in Science subjects, I wonder what NYJC’s past impressive mean and median RP would actually be if it had a normalized cohort?
I applaud the principal for following MOE policy. -

I don’t think 6 distinctions necessarily equate perfect 90 RP. See RI’s results — 444 out of 1126 students (or 39.4%) attained at least 6 distinctions, but only 1 in 4 obtained 90 RP.
The school's website mentions that 'Achieved >= 6 Distinctions' is 2 in 10....
So... >= 6 Distinction = 90 RP? If so.. funny why that school dun quote '90RP' which is understood by most as perfect score. -

Median by definition is the rank point of the 50th percentile student. It is not a calculated number so should be exact. Just saying.
86 as Median, not Mean as shared by reddit.
Other JCs could have rounded their Median rp as well.
Eg Ejc has 4/10 got 3H2 A, Vjc 5/10 got 3 H2 A.
But both jcs Median are 85. So who rounded the Median.
Your examples of percentages of 3H2 distinctions of other JCs are off point. -
RE: * Nanyang JC (NYJC)
86 has beee touted as NYJC’s mean for the 2021 A level results. That is highly suspect as HCI and RI cannot achieve that in 2022 even with medians of 88.
Even 86 as a median must have been rounded as I cannot derive this exact number using the rank point calculator testing various combinations.
Good that you filter out suspect information. Thank you. -

Did you not read the first two paragraphs?
This link doesn’t show the segregation between IP/JAE. When I clicked on it, it shows the achievements of 2 students only.[/quote]
Since 2005, we have welcomed many bright, passionate and compassionate young men and women to our Integrated Programme. They are our pride and joy, as we witness their growth and development over the years they spend with us.
The IP Class of 2021 continued to do the college and themselves proud – they achieved a median UAS 86.6; with 6 in 10 scoring UAS 85 or better; and 1 in 4 scoring a perfect UAS 90. More importantly, our IP students are all-rounders with a zest for life. Let’s meet Low Hwee Keng, Saripalli Bhagat Sai Reddy and Wong Yock Yan.
