    • RE: Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) [*IP]

      Hi abitworry,

My daughter is also in sec 1 RGS. My daughter, on the contrary, seems to have little work and has lots of spare time in her hands. For your daughter’s case, I’m guessing it may be one of these possibilities:
      1. She is unable to manage both her work and her time.
      2. She is aiming for stellar results. Hence, putting in many extra hours to be ahead of the pack.
      3. She is pretending to be working. In between, she may be actively on facebook or watching music videos, or Korean dramas. . . . .the usual teenagers’ pastime.

I guess it is best to get to the root of the problem so that you can follow up with the appropriate steps to help her.

      Regards.

    • Consequences of dropping BIO

Hi, my ds is in Hwa Chong IP sec 3. Currently taking all 3 sciences. If he drops bio, what r the consequences - will that limit his subject options when he goes to jc n uni? Can he take up bio in jc or uni if he drops bio now?

Those with t-score 265 and above were all informed on 22 Dec and registered together with the rest of the Year 1 cohort yesterday.

      Thanks BryBenMum for the update.

Anyone who scored below that also received calls from RI on their appeal??

yesterday at least one 263 was called down to collect the registration package - appeal case (previously DSA-ed to another IP school)[/quote]Hi, do you happen to know whether the boy with 263 and got accepted by RI is from GEP or mainstream? My son is still awaiting for the appeal result, his T-score is 263, from mainstream and DSA-ed to another IP school as well. There are no many days left, does that mean that there is little or no hope?

    • RE: 2010 DSA(Direct School Admission)

      Hi hi,

Have several questions regarding the GAT test :

      1. Do the kids need to prepare for the GAT tests?

      2. How to?

      3. Are there any GAT practice books that we can buy? What books? And where can I get them?

      Thanks

    • RE: 2009 GEP Screening And Selection

Am tearing my hair now. I’m choosing which school to go to and Tao Nan is one of them. However, I heard some not so positive stories about the school. Parents whose kids have gone thru or are going thru the Tao Nan GEP programme, could you share with me if these are true:

      a. Is it true that Tao Nan drills the kids like crazy. And that there is a lot of homework. On average, how much time is needed for homework on a daily basis??

      b. Is it true that there’s so much work, it’s not possible to excel in both studies and sports at the same time in Tao Nan. Because it is not possible to juggle both GEP work and the 3 times a week school team training.

      c. Is it true that If kid lags behind in Tao Nan, the school will give a ‘warning’ call the parent to ask parent and kid to buck up. And if kid’s results continue to be not so ideal, kid is out of the school.

      Kindly shed some light.

      Thanks!!!
