    • How is your child coping in NUSH?

For the NUSH 2012 cohort parents:

      …are your children coping well?
…are the subjects tough as they start doing pure sciences in year 1?
…anyone with dd/ds skipping any levels? …and how are they doing?
…how about CCA? Are they demanding?
…was the mid-year exam difficult? How is it compared with other IP schools?

…just curious and I am sure with DSA exercise for 2013 on-going, incoming parents would also be interested to know.

    • RE: NUSHigh or RGS

My DD probably got her Maths gene from her mom, she’s the one who prepared her for the GCSE Os…all within 10 month. My DW stop work to ‘home-schooled’ them till they entered P1, and they continued their Primary educ without outside tuition. I don’t think my DD’s school contributed much to her maths though. Most primary schools just cover the basic and expect students to look for help elsewhere when they cannot cope. My DW only begin to give tuition to supplement our income when the Children were more stable in school. Guess she is now helping other kids to cope with their school works as well…she’s doing well in this as she’s got a waiting list of students.

Yes seeing her passion for maths, having got her GCSE O-level maths distinction while in P5, and her ability to keep up with A-level maths, its an opportunity for her to accelerate her learning at NUSH.

…should be the right choice looking at the way NUS is expanding, possibly by the time the incoming Yr 1 NUSHS cohort enter NUS, it would have gain further ground towards being amongst the best in the World.

      hi Frog,

Thanks very much for your precious, valuable feedback.

indeed, you are blessed with a bright, intelligent daughter - able to receive > one COs from NUSH, RGS and NYGH. Although sometimes may lead to dilemma when comes to making the final decision, still your daughter and you are blessed! 😄
Actually I am blessed that my DW was willing to shelved her career to be at-home-mum so that she could be with them during their formative years. She managed their every needs from nourishment to education to enrichments. In everything there is an opportunity cost.

    • RE: Parents of students ACS(I) - R U Happy with the IP program

ACS(I) is a good alternative to those who are considering SOTA but prefer a more well rounded academic environment. Their IB Visual Art results were 11 sevens and 3 sixes for the 2010 cohort of 14 students. Those interested in the Visual Art programme might want to take a peek at their programme this Sunday 6-8 pm when they are presenting their current cohort works set up for their IB graduation show (a requirement for IB Visual Art which include an interview in lieu of time based exam). They are offering 19 candidates this year. You would get a chance to meet the teachers and also speak to the students. Quite likely the new Principal would be there too I heard.
