We heard similar when we were taken on a tour by a sweet Sec 3 boy in Yishun Town. He is from NA stream. We told him he should consider marketing as a career!
KSP:KSP :welcome: you to KSP
rains:Yes, was a bit surprised when we called up Yishun Town last week, and they said no Open House. But looks like last minute they decided to do so. We managed to catch the walkabout on Monday 25 Nov. They 'tour guide' was a very impressive young man in Sec 3. Not a councillor but a student leader in NPCC.Yishun Town had its open house with principal talk last Friday 22 Nov and Saturday 23 Nov, and only school tour on 25 Nov.chenks:Recommend CHung Cheng Yishun as facilities are better.
Both have same CoP but Chung Cheng Yishun stands out more as they seem more approachable and friendly.
Chung Cheng Yishun had Open House on 24 Nov and it was full of parents and students. The school had many teachers and students showing guests around.
Turned up at Yishun Town & was surprised they don't seem to have Open House. Staff was trying to explain they had similar smaller scale events throughout the year - thought staff was condescending and implying the school doesn't need an Open House as it seemed that theirs was an obvious choice. Thought it was a bit arrogant. Disappointed at the attitude.
For some reason, at least 2 teachers around Yishun area recommend Yishun Town over CCH Yishun. And generally, parents prefer Yishun Town as well. They have not-so-good impression of CCH Yishun students outside school. So I am surprised that parents in the forum prefer CCH Yishun to Yishun Town.
I don't interact with either school's students but I have more opportunities to observe YTSS students behaviour outside school. I haven't seen a misbehaved student from YTSS after at least 5 years of daily observation. I only hear them discussing school work. Quite impressed.
