It is unfortunate that the term 'gifted' is misunderstood by many. Other parents get jealous if we feel our children are gifted. Some will think that every child is gifted in their own ways.
Gifted children's brains are just wired differently. They are able to make connections much faster and they are interested in a lot of things. They have special needs that most teachers are unable to cope with. Even a trained gifted teacher is unable to handle every gifted child as everyone is just different.
There is no real solution in Singapore. What you can do is to read up on how to manage your child's emotions. Check out http://www.hoagiesgifted.org/ on gifted children. They have lots of resources on how to handle gifted children and all their issues.
You might consider changing schools if he is unhappy.

RE: should i withdraw
If they are going to spend the whole day at childcare without brushing their teeth, and have lots of sweets and chocolates, they may end up with cavities.
Like pavlov’s dog, they will also learn to misbehave just to get the treat, rather than be on best behaviour to earn the treat. -
RE: books for 10-12 year old boys
What about Cherub series? The books are about a group of child secret agents who are young enough to be inconspicuous on their missions, but well trained enough to handle major cases. I took the book randomly from the library, and felt it was very interesting. It seems to target reluctant readers. Young teens may enjoy too.
CHERUB is a series of young adult spy novels, written by the English author Robert Muchamore, focusing around a division of the British Security Service named CHERUB, which employs minors, predominantly orphans, as intelligence officers. -
RE: Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary
Do you think it might get more competitive when they move back to their campus?
Do the children at kcpss speak good English? I had just heard from someone that many of the students have major grammar problems, just like other government schools. Could it probably be a nationwide issue that is systemic and hence it is the same everywhere? -
RE: should i withdraw
Since you can’t find alternative arrangement and need to go back to work, then just let your child continue there while you look for another sch ASAP. Some costs might be incurred - registration, uniform etc, but it is the best I can think.
I’m very shocked the teacher gave chocolate to bribe such young kids. -
RE: Club Breastfeeding Mums
For supply, need to drink enough fluid, take enough calories. My cl cooked a lot of soupy stuff, black glutinous rice, papaya soup. Actually the food itself doesn’t matter. Producing bf requires lots of energy, so don’t try to slim down immediately. Because we are not supposed to drink water, make sure you have enough fluid through big bowls of soup 3 times a day, milo at least twice, red date drink constantly.
Latching on demand is better than expressing.
Wished I had known these when having my first one. -
RE: URGENT advice needed on transfer maid and new maid
Up to you. If work permit cancelled, they can go to Malaysia on social pass then re enter. Don’t need to be too nice to the old agency.

RE: Need advice! Should I accept this maid?
My former maid was said to have some lung issue when she came for the review, like cannot expand fully, but still pass overall. I decided to take her in, as she said she was sick because of the changes in weather. So I brought her to the GP and did not let her look after my 3 month old for a week. However, she remained weak, and had to see a GP every month for cough and flu. Apart from medical expenses incurred, I still had to take over looking after my baby. My older kid caught the germs from her and fell sick often, missing school for weeks, wasting lots of money on pd and sch.
So, I suggest not taking her because her immunity level would be very low.
