Hi,im a Sec 1 student. I need to do a maths portfolio on standard form and it is due on 31 Jan!Plus,marks will be included in CA1 I don't really know standard form :stupid: I need help for this. :?:


1.One of the component is doing a mindmap on SF.Can you write down a few points i should write? I'm not familiar with mindmap either :stupid:

2.Self practice questions. I need to look for 30 questions on SF,at least 15 word problems and others short questions.Where can i look for them online with answers?I need to mark them for the next component. I don't have any assessments book so i don't have any place to get the questions.

3.What is SF use for nowaday? Its application(?). I don't really know what my teacher means that ><

A car and a coach travelled from town A to town B.The coach left town A at 0648 and it took 5hours to reach town B.The car started 30minutes later than the coach and it took 4 hours to reach town B.At what time did the car catch up with the coach?

I am the mum of VC and are you a parent? Not sure whether the method used is applicable for you or not?

Constant distance concept where speed is inversely proportional to time.

Ratio of speed
Jason : Carl
11 : 8

Ratio of time
Jason : Carl
8 : 11

Difference in time = 1 h - 0.5h = 0.5h
Difference in time in terms of unit = 11u-8u = 3u
3u-> 0.5h
u -> 1/6 of h = 10 min

Time taken by Jason -> 8u = 8x10min = 80 min

no we will not but it is good to state you units. IF you cant do something like this:

10+12=22 ($)

yep something like this but for just adding up normal numbers and not volume,money etc you need not put the signs. But after you have come up with the answer underline it ------ something like this. If it has a and b

remember the a comes first followed by the unit. This rule also follows for b. So it saves time. A long time ago they deducted marks for no writing final statement. But now the rule is gone YAY!

instead of

Will i be deducted marks for writing the first one?
